These guys didn't re-invent the wheel here, but they did make one of my favorite records of 2006 and if this is any indication as to what their next record will sound like, then I am eagerly awaiting their next attempt...

The album doesn’t pretend to break any new ground but, as recent records from Mission of Burma and Dinosaur Jr prove, the sound of those bands, and now Black Helicopter, continues to be anything but dated.

Championed by Thurston Moore since their conception, Black Helicopter are a strange beast: they deserve to be heard in every possible context, but should be approached with caution as their succinct delivery at orchestrated wryness will move mountains and break hearts in equal measures.
