This understated but ambitious album may rile some of the band's longtime followers with its slick finish, but for every fan he loses, he is guaranteed to earn ten more with foolproof pop singles like "Don't Wait."

It's an album from a matured Carrabba (now in his early thirties) directly to his grassroots fan base. He may have grown beyond six-strings and a wooden stool, but when the result is this good, who can really complain?

Dusk's hot-blooded, hokey songs might get the better of you this summer, even if you'll hate yourself in the fall.

Dusk And Summer is accessible from just about every single angle. The strings and keys add a tonic ambiance to what could be a rather flat album.

This album is the culmination of their sound. Each song rings a Dashboard-esque message that you can point out immediately.

Buy this album? No. But maybe get your kid sister to burn it for you and give it a spin. You might just be surprised.

Carraba remains a master at portraying the giddy rush of the first blooms of love or the melancholy despair of unrequited affection.

The ingredients remain the same, but the anger and angst of romantic failure is gone, replaced by regret and bittersweet nostalgia.

Sn album of dryly mature love songs with an arena-ready sheen that contains echoes of Coldplay and, oddly enough, Journey.

Good? Dusk and Summer certainly isn't, but it's pleasant.

I suggest you drink some really hard whiskey, call a cheap escort service or two, and live up at least one night of your life. I guarantee you you’ll start writing better songs.

Dashboard Confessional has yet again lived up to its potential. They have long been a favorite band of mine, and that is because they continue to write and produce great music such as "Dont Wait." All i can say is keep it up. |

Sad people everywhere, buy this album. I am very thankful these guys couldnt get a girl if there lives depended on it cause some great music is coming out of their sad little saga. When it comes down to it I guess its better than a bottle of jack, well almost. Keep doing what your doing Dashboard, it seems to be working out for everyone. |

Although Dusk and Summer was a great album, it didn't do what Places You Have Come to Fear the Most did, make me love every song. I honestly can't put that album on and flip to the songs I like cause I love them all. Dusk and summer had some hits and it had some misses, resulting in an overall good album. The one reason I gave the ablum a 9...stolen...I cried like a ten year old girl the first time I heard this song and I still have trouble months later. People say that Dashboard has lost the raw emotion it once had. I think the emotion evoked in the five words "You...have...stolen...my...heart." is probably the most raw unadultered emotion Carrabba has ever been able to express in words. Bravo! |

2 good songs, lyrics are nothing like the old days, and the electric guitars really dont work well with chris's writing, I was bored to tears listening to this album |

As a longtime fan of Dashboard I can honestly say that this cd doesnt display Chris' ability to leave fans breathless with his yearning vocals. However I feel that the change is also good and appreciate the change Dashboard has made |

although this had a different feel from his previous albums I still think it truly embodies the feelings of summer and first love. His voice to this day still remains hypnotic to me, Dashboard Confessional is my favorite band. |

Dashboard Confessional is my favorite band and continues to be. Even though this new album isnt quite as good as I anticipated it would be. I fell in love with Chris's lyrics, voice, and acoustic sound but Im not sure where it went. I still love Chris and the band and I agree that the sound is more mature considering that hes now grown older. Ill continue to listen to his older music because it will always be my favorite. The new album was kind of disapointing. I give you credit Chris, for being brave and taking a risk with the new style. |
