Long Trip Alone starts off with a foolproof country-rockin' anthem, "Every Mile A Memory," but before long settles into the more refined groove of those earlier songs, most notably on the title track, "Soon As You Can," "Trying to Stop Your Leaving" and "The Heaven I'm Headed To" (a surprising broadside aimed at dogma, imagining an afterworld where "priests and prostitutes" co-exist in harmony.)

It's a pleasant surprise that Long Trip Alone, if not quite up to the level of the best recordings in mainstream country's recent artistic resurgence, succeeds in establishing Bentley as an artist worthy of more than just passing attention.

The song "Long Trip Alone" reminds me alot about me...With how he starts off in prison and then he walks around trying to go home but ends up being alone...that is how im am like walking alone for a long time them getting somewere and finding out the person you love has left you. |

This is one of Dierks most thought out ablums because it is all personal and he said he tries to write about what is happening to him. Which is what makes the CD so great. Good Job Dierks! |

One of his best!! its definitely different from his first albums since he is married now and you can tell that in his music but the cd is amazing and there is not one song on there that i dont like. I can honestly say that Dierks' CD's are the only CDS i can put in my CD player and put on shuffle and not care what song comes on! Theres is not one bad song he has ever sang and htere certainly isnt a bad song on this CD!! A Perfect 10!! |
