An End Has A Start actually sounds like it was crafted as ten quite individual chapters of a long-running saga; surprisingly, though, it ultimately works better than its predecessor as a cohesive, flowing album. Inadvertently, arenas may beckon, but don't expect those who’ve solely embraced The Hits to date to fully understand the underlying beauty of Editors just yet.

Difficult Second Album Syndrome may be a cliché but it is nonetheless a truly tricky dilemma for any band. When your debut album went platinum, how to follow it up must become even more of a poisoned chalice - should you produce more of the same and hope that your audience haven't had enough of you yet, or try something different and keep your fingers crossed that it works?

It might aswell be called The Back Room Part 2, as the boys have basically picked up where they left off, the only problem is that the catchiness of the debut album isn't here and you tend to get the feeling that you have heard this all a hundred times before, but unfortunately it has been done a hundred times better.
