Infinity ain't exactly Thriller — but Maroon 5 better watch their backs.

The album ends with an audience applauding and a computerized voice telling me to "now press repeat." Good luck trying to refute that command.

Just as "Thriller" finds Jay-Z quashing those who criticized his golden goose, the rest of Infinity On High finds Fall Out Boy challenging the Warped Tour generation that first put it on his radar. Employing another surprise presence, Babyface, to produce alongside Neal Avron (who helmed Fall Out Boy's multi-platinum breakthrough, 2005's From Under The Cork Tree), the quartet defies expectations at nearly every turn.

More than likely this album will not bring in any many new fans, but should keep the current fans intact. If nothing else, this is a major step for the band, even if it may not change the world, or their fan base.

He's why Fall Out Boy deserve every bit of their success: On Infinity on High, they expose the secret life of boys, in hilariously bloodcurdling detail.

nfinity on High is a record that is wildly exciting and experimental, and that at least demands respect. An utter cliché to throw in here is that a casual listener would not be able to recognize a random selection from this album on the radio, but in this case, it seems to be true: it may be blasphemous to say that the band are taking the same route as Nirvana did with In Utero in response to fame (without the frontman), but that’s what it most resembles.

Ruling the hearts of 12-year-old girls (and 20-year-old boys with the musical taste of 12-year-old girls) through a combo of bubblegum hooks and bassist/singer Pete Wentz' pinup power is no longer enough for the act. It wants to win over the heart of every chart-obsessed casual music fan in America.

Fall Out Boy ditch more of their hardcore roots and play up to their pop sensibilities. Properly, this time.

This record makes me think how it wasn't that long ago that Blink-182 was MTV's breakthrough band, and how the guys in Fall Out Boy should take a cue and realize no one should take themselves this seriously.

Its a perfect blend of all elements that make up Fall Out Boy: Surprises, Punk, Great Melodies, And Excellent instrument parts by Andy Hurley and Pete Wentz. This is probably one of their best CDs yet. Keep it up guys! |

I would have to say that Fall Out Boy has definately had better things. While this album had some very soul-capturing songs on here, I'd have to agree with the critics, it could a better album. This album is nothing compared to their first 2. |

When I first heard "This Ain't A Scene" I was completely blown away by how awesome it is. However my expectations was let down by vague disappointments I felt listening to this album I really love Fall Out Boy, but to me this album's a bit inconsistent & isn't as brilliant overall as their last ones. They progressed a lot & it's great they are experimenting with Rock/RnB/Pop, but it could've been even more kick ass! Almost there. |

This album kicks butt! I`m looking to add this to my collection of CD`s. The songs in this album came close to out doing their CD, from ynder the cork tree. Yep, FOB rules, and the rest of the rock bands out there, like greenday and Maroon five better whatch thier backs! |

It's Worst album they have done so far only 7 tracks were satisfactory on this album out of the 15 on it.The lyics varied from good(the take over, the breaks over) to terrible(I got all this ringing in my ear and none on my finger) The band seemed more concerned about getting as many songs on the album as possible while giving them inventive tounge in the cheek titles, than putting GOOD songs on the album. As far as i'm concerned the last four songs on the album shouldn't have been recorded never mind placed on the album. The last two albums Fal Out Boy did were exceptional;this is the bands third album and many bands do struggle on that all impotant third album (stand up Linkin Park).Lets hope in their next album Fall Out Boy deliever a masterpiece to make up for this letdown. High points of the album - Guitar solos on Take over,The breaks over,Jay Z's intro,The first 7 tracks. Low points-The bad lyrics from track eight onwards,The songs 8 and onwards. |

Some of the songs on this album are fantastic, but some of the others disappointed me a bit. Some of them were really pop and I'm not really into that kind of thing. None the less, its still a decent album. |

To really enjoy this album you've got understand the lyrics, you've got to listen to every song over and over again until you've mermized them. And by that time, you've already fall in love with it. |
