I must admit, friends, that I did not go into listening to Findlay Brown with an open mind. Employing at various points three-part harmonies, banjos, strings and slide guitars, many of Brown's songs (see Losing The Will To Survive and the epic Don't You Know I Love You) are reminiscent of the likes of Crosby, Stills and Nash or The Byrds, conveying the wide open expanses of the wild American countryside, far more than the hills and valleys of the county he grew up in.
