50 may be right and Game may not sell as well without him singing hooks on his albums. But if anyone questioned whether or not Jayceon Taylor had what it took to stand on his own post-G-Unit, Game answers all of his critics with a resounding yes on Doctor's Advocate.   Full text...

StylusMagazine Rating: 8.3

His second album, The Doctor’s Advocate, is supposed to be the part where he vanishes into obscurity, falling flat on his face without Dre’s beats and 50’s hooks. Instead, amazingly, it sounds like an Event, coming off as one of the stronger rap albums of this admittedly piss-poor year.   Full text...

Blogcritics Rating: 8.3

The Game has evolved as an artist and is one of the few rappers out there making music who winds up being this vulnerable (whether intended or not). The presence of stellar tracks from producing heavyweights like Kanye, Just Blaze, Swizz Beats, and Hi-Tek blends well with the surprisingly terrific efforts by upstarts like Reefa, Urban EP Pope, and DJ Khalil. The album may not be a classic, but I think it might be even better than The Documentary and is a major accomplishment for one of the most maligned rappers in the industry.  Full text...

As rap music, The Doctor’s Advocate is good; as tangled psychodrama, it's better.  Full text...

Doctor's Advocate leads the listener to conclude the Cali king won't stop until all his foes-artistic or critical, real or imagined-are vanquished. Game may have knocked adversity down a peg or two, and on this occasion some powerful jabs ensure he's in no danger of suffering a second round KO.   Full text...

The problem with Game is he is pretty terrible when he has nothing to talk about, and it just becomes him trying not to ruin a dope beat with name-checking and infinite references to low riders, bloods, bandanas, guns, daytons, weed, khaki suits and chucks. Which is exactly why the best songs on the album come when Game gets sincere with his subject matter; Why You Hate The Game featuring Nas, One Night (though some may question its legitimacy), Ol' English and Doctor's Advocate featuring Busta Rhymes.  Full text...

the best songs on the album come when Game gets sincere with his subject matter; Why You Hate The Game featuring Nas, One Night (though some may question its legitimacy), Ol' English and Doctor's Advocate featuring Busta Rhymes.

B Rating: 8.0

You can sort relate this album 2 illmatic(not comparing the quality/rhymes themselves)
the album itself is good, but it lacks mainstream publishing that he had before through 50cent. So this means, not that many suburban white kids are following him anymore
ol' english is a DUKE song

Daruis Rating: 10.0

Doctors Advocate is a classical album, the album is not for a club to play or anything like that, that album is for real peaople whos doing life in prison and other stuff too but its not a album to be making fun off.

I$I Rating: 3.0

The problem with Game is he is pretty terrible when he has nothing to talk about, and it just becomes him trying not to ruin a dope beat with name-checking and infinite references to low riders, bloods, bandanas, guns, daytons, weed, khaki suits and chucks. Guess he needs 50's help afterall.

Biohazard EXTREME Rating: 10.0

The album is amazing. The Game has stepped it up on every level. The beats are catchy, even if Dre's not on it. The Game has developed his own style that sounds more unique than his first album. The Documentary got nothing on the Doctor's Advocate. It's not about sales. It's about quality. The Game doesn't need to sell to white teenage girls who are looking for club beats. That's what G-Unit is for. The Game is for real Hip-Hop fans.

steven Rating: 5.0

less then average album very disapointed with it. why rap about fre on nearly every track we get the picture. im a game fan and g-unit but the unit will be laffing at this.

Justin Marsh. of Englewood Rating: 8.0

The Game gets serious with this albulm, and its too bad not too many people like this guy where Im from, as a rapper. I wanted my money back when I got tired of playing this CD. His albulm did good the first month, so obviously he still has a good fanbase. He showed G Unit his career aint over yet, and thats whatsup.

sobelany Rating: 7.0

i liked this album a lot....i do agree with I$I tho because it seems as if The Game raps about the same stuff a lot. a lot of songs contain lyrics regarding bloods, gang references, lowriders, '64 impalas-a lot almost every song....but the beats were dope i liked the song "too much"

Slikk T Rating: 9.0

This album is almost perfect, the game is dope but sometimes he mension names dat doesnt need to be mensioned, but the game is still a real hip hop artist not like fitty who makes music for britney spears fans, not being a hater but the game got lot more of hip hop talent than lot of whack rappers like g unit members, jeezy. Though doctor's advocate still a classic.

havana che Rating: 8.0

this is a good album.but compared to the documentary its a dissapointment. There are some really hot songs, compton shows how games flow has improved, lets ride is a classic west coast low riding tune, and one night and ol'english are lyrically excellent.finally why u hate the game is a perfect outro.
But for all the excellent songs there are songs that should of been cut.
overall the album shows that the game has improved lyrically.it proves what we already knew, that he can do it without 50cent.But i think game missed dre on this album,if dre had overseen production i think this would be a 9/10.But hey for a second album its good.buy it.

Chip Rating: 10.0

This album is pretty much the best that the game has come out with to date. he doesnt need 50 cent or dre. he can make tracks as good or even better than either of them, even though dre is a god in the rap scene. this album doesnt just have one good hit on it, every song has its own beats and story behind it. i think the song 'too much' could be a hot radio single if there wasnt so much swearing in it. but that gives every song its characteristics which is great. the game adds a nice touch to the song 'doctors advocate' when he talks about the making of 'start from scratch' from the documentary album. over the album is bumpin.

HOODlem Rating: 9.0

proved he can ride on his own. coming out of shadow of dre and g-unit. game has sumthing to offer that is more genuine than 50, dre should open his eyes and keep his ear to the reaction on the street, not bout sales. g-g-g-g-g U-NOT

thegame900.skyblog.com Rating: 10.0

This album is a classic , it goes without saying that Game made its way thru Hip-hop game regardless what all those g-unit suckers said . Fuck all that!

In 2006 ,i rank it second after "hip-hop is dead"

game2308 Rating: 10.0

i love dis album mayn! its da real thang. da drs advoc8 is da bomb. i think game is lyrically acclaimed enough to be called a legend. his gangster rap style is legit. songs like 'too much' are s'pposed to be rocking evry radio station da world over.

Wais (Kenya) Rating: 9.0

The game proves he doesn't need 50 or any of the unit's soljas to rock, though every one misses Dre's touch, the game has smacked critics on their face with songs like the doctor's advocate, why u hate the game, let's ride in it,the album is a must buy

J. Cruz in the HARTbeat Rating: 10.0

What you have failed to understand is that this is by far the best album that has come out of the WEST coast in 2006. How can you rate this album anything less. The Game is an "Ill Ass Lyricist" who isn't afraid to speak his mind. Also, If y'all can cop the real "Kingdom Come" by King Tee on Half.com, fo'sure!

$merk$ Rating: 10.0

this album is da domb its so high in the sky compared to that snich 50cent this will be the best rap album for atleast 2 years but hopfully The game will make another album before that."its Blackwall street for life now g,g,g,gunOT

Brandon long beach 562 Rating: 9.0

this whole album is real an he dit it wit out 50 an dre ... highlights of the album ar california vacation, ol' english, doctors advocate and possibly one blood

C.M.B General Rating: 9.0

dis album hot even wit out fif and tha doc one night,ol'english, too much, and why u hate tha game are tha album's highlights i could have did wit out dat around tha world joint but netherless dis shit is a near-classic i'll give it a 9.5

future14 Rating: 9.0

this was one of the best albums i've listened to,but he lost dre and 50.that's why he loses a point.however,he proved he didn't really need them.you can't stop the game.

blood on ice Rating: 7.0

i found that the album was solid. But not his best i found the Documentary was more complete. The best song on the album hands down was Doctor's Advocate. His raspy voice talking about the relationship with his fellow rappers. (Busta was a good call on the song)

Unknown Rating: 10.0

This is an sick album, best songs are doctors advocate, ol' english, one night and let's ride . all of the other songs are safe too

A.T. Rating: 10.0

This album was a classic especially since he aint have the help of Dre and 50.The best songs on this album is Wouldnt Get Far , Lets Ride , One Night and Why You Hate The Game

Diana Rating: 10.0

The Game is definitly a talented rapper, he can do this shitt on his own he dont need 50 and his crew..he got it...the album is the SHIt

Angel Rating: 6.0

It's not really what i expected... in all the songs all u hear him say is he's the next dre, dre this and dre that... although he didn't use any of his beats, he sure did mention him alot.... how is he ever gonna step out of his shadow if he keeps him at the tip of his tongue..??

LOC O.G. Rating: 10.0

Yall are crazy! This album is tight and unlike most other albums. Game got flows and ain't scared to say names. He knows hee fucked up wit dre. But he put his buis out for everybody. How many other rappers tell the truth.

R A E Rating: 10.0

This album was better than the DOCUMENTARY. He is true to what he knows and loves in this album and that is OG gangsta rap. Im ok with the name droppin because hes talkin about rap when it was at its peak, and showin love and respect to the guys who paved the way. As for 50, Game showed he didnt need him after 300 Bars and Runnin, and at least 5 mixtapes devoted entirely to destroyin G-Unit (which he did).

Micky-B Rating: 9.0

Good album yeah, but to me the lyrics are boring. He raps about the same things, If you compare the two albums, Documentary deffinitly has the better rhymes and lyrics. But the D.A has got better beats. Defo coulda done with some from DRE tho

BIG B/S Rating: 10.0

Doctors advacote...where do i begin. Well 50 and dre better be cutting there rists cause they lost the future of rap(the game). Every song on this album gave me goose bumps cause its real. by far the best album of the year a close second would be laugh now cry later-ice cube the greatest songs on this album would have to be lookin' at you, too much, california vacation, and remedy. remedy brings the old school westside vibe back made me want to hit the switches in my lo rider

Marqis Rating: 10.0

This album was better than the first.Game proved to us that he can make an hot album without 50 cent.Big ups to the Game.

GGGGUnot!! Rating: 9.0

This whole album is tooooooo raw i would have gave it a ten but some of his trax sound the same but other than that Go Game!!! And when was the last time u heard a fifty song on the radio?

Kabelo Mashishi (The Game) Rating: 8.0

Yeah folks, peeps, children....The Doctor's advocate is Banging for real. Give me one rapper who out-maneuvered G-UNIT on his own, and took the crown home with Him. THE-GAME. Of course 50 and G-UNOT (UNIT) would have added a Buzz on this album, but who would have thought that Game can do it on his own ?
This album is the SH#it of the moment....!!!!!!

phil Rating: 7.0

the albums worth buyin for tha shit and California Vacation... the best song in the world him and 50 are just as good as each other but california vacation smashes any song by 50 and i like 50 cent more than the game

blazin haze Rating: 10.0

Game came, saw and conquered!! he stomped 50 in his face and stompled on g-unit. sumthin no1 else cud do. brought real west coast rap back and refreshed hip hop... this album is sum HOTT Ish! 50 wat u gon say now SNITCH!!! GGGGG UNOT!

Tupac Fan Rating: 9.0

Now this is actual RAP, not that Gay-Unit bullshit. G-Unit only talks about how they are rich, have a lot of hoes, they have fancy cars/jewells, them being "gangsta" and all that. All their songs are the same, this album is nice in the sense that it is more of a dedication to the legendary Dr. Dre, and he doesn't brag as much as Gay-Unit does, kind of like Tupac, he didn't have to brag, because everyone already knew he was among the best, same with Game, plus, it doesn't make him seem so arrogant. The album talks about gang life, him being sorry for upsetting Dre (although if I was Dre, i would have stayed with Game, and kicked 50 off of Aftermath, I don't know why the fuck he didn't do it (maybe it had something to do with Interscope and all that, I don't really know)) telling everyone he just wants to end the beef with 50 (although I agree with him, because no one wants it to end like it did with Biggie and Tupac, I kind of wanted him to diss 50 some more). I think he just wanted to prove that he can make good music without Dre's help, and prove that he doesn't need that faggot 50 to help him. Pretty good album, nice rhymes too, not just beats (too many people buy albums just because of the beats now-a-days), the only thing is that he mentions Impalas/Lowrider, Aftermath/Dre, Bloods/Gangbanging too much sometimes. Good album overall.

Dima the Russian Rating: 10.0

This album was a 10 lyrically as well as instrumentally. Im not gonna speak any more on that since everybody that posted before me did so already. Instead I want everyone to understand WHY the Game mentions Dre so much...he wants to work with him again in the future so he used this album as a way to tell him that. This album is not the real bomb that Game will drop although it's a great album. The real bomb is the next album with Dre back in production. You've been warned.

As for 50 Cent, his empire is falling apart. G-Unit dosen't sell and 50 is concentrating on movies and his money. Rap is secondary to him at this point. Also he is not gonna get out of this Camron beef untouched. Killa is not one to play with.

Rob Rating: 10.0

Excellent it is the best album. The Game must never retire from rapping, he is the livest. No one can match him.

Faness Rating: 8.0

the game has stepped up alot in this album and hes coming hard body with his lyrics. The only problem is he does mention dre alot and he repeats the same topics on each track

Rev ICE Rating: 10.0

The game is still growing in his carrier. He's pretty much all thats holdin down the westcoast right now and its nothin to him. Incredible talent.

PotHead Rating: 10.0

The game is sick. The doctor's advocate is a hott cd. His music is west coast thats whats up. Black Wallstreet is whats up homies. dont get it twisted.

Lorenzo Rating: 10.0

He outwitted 50 with every line he spits. Love that gravely voice of his. Classy and elegant. He's got the touch. This is a classic. I'd like to have reactions from other people about my comment.

JK Rating: 10.0

The Doctors Advocate was the best damn Album of the year nobody can touch it. He got the West Coast back and Dre's beats cant nobody touch that

MTHA GAULEKAPA Rating: 9.0

THE GAME is on top form on yet onother album and its not just any album this is a classical game album, compton is rising and g-unit is sinking further down.get this album as soon as possible and youll be screaming 'compton' even louder.

mike p Rating: 6.0

this is a very gd album, but there are none dr dre produced traxx on it. most of the collabs are gd but there should have more like 50 cent, obie trice, g unit, p diddy and even notorious BIG. also the album could have some remixes of the original's like how we do and hate it or luv it.

vick Rating: 10.0

This album is one of the best if not the best one of 2006. His music is great. He might have not sold as much as THe Documentary, but the tracks are sick. Im from L.A. too, but I rep the blue. Its cool, The Game is whats bringing West Coast rap back to the map. MY favorite songs were One Night, One blood, Ol english, and scream on em.

Noname Rating: 8.0

This is what I call gangstar rap.The lyrics on this album are amazing, I always wonder how does he come with this!!I think the game is similar to tupac that is people think he is legend already.Tupac wasn't known for making good beats but for the lyrics in his song and this is what this album is about. I have to admit in terms of good songs on this album it is nothing compare to the documentary. The documentary is the best album I've heard sinced tupac released better dayz(best album ever).

young gangsta Rating: 8.0

The Game is one of the best of the best the cail king is the take over 2 classic albums one blood game for the hood keep doin your thing cuz it's luv from chi-town on black p. stone on the rap side iam doin my thing to hope one day get to make a song wit u cuz u is my inspiration.

Big C Rating: 10.0

I mean what else can you say its a perfect ALBUM best of 06' and best album in a couple years with great features like Nas, Busta Rhymes, Will.I.Am, Kanye West, I MEAN Come ON!! It does not get any better no help from the G-Unot or Dre and it's still a classic he proved all the Hater's wrong So Why You Hate The Game??!!

david Rating: 9.0

Slightly worse than the documentary, but it's pretty hard to do better than the documentary. The Documentary is a classic. Nevertheless, The Game indubitably proved that he is a much more skilled MC than 50 Cent. G-Unit is on a slippery slope which will eventually lead to them hitting rock bottom.

GGGG-UNOT!!!
