Guster has created a less pop album this time out, but one that may prove to have a longer life in your library.   Full text...

It's pop music that's smart, and maybe even a little wise.  Full text...

Most people say the album wasnt very good, but you actually listen to it more than once to actually appreciate it.

At first, I was pretty disappointed when I bought this album and had my first listen through. After a few times, it really grew on me. It's not the catchy playful stuff that you probably are expecting from Guster, it won't have audiences singing along nearly as enthusiasticly, but it's got much more soul, you can tell they took their time with it. It's different, but it's a solid piece of work, definitely not the college pop I was expecting but I am more pleasantly surprised each time through.

When I first got the album, I couldn't even listen to it. I thought it was too boring. But after a few listens, it turns out the album is amazing

Satalite is such a feel good amazing song. Almost an "Oasis" sound. Absolutly love that voice!
I plan on getting the CD. If it werent for my "Serius" radio,...prob would never have heard it. Once you go "Serius" you never go back!

Destined to become a classic. I play it every day, without fail.

I like Guster. I like them quite a bit. This album has some of their best songs. On a whole, though, it is a little weaker than previous albums. Still good, but not their best.

For those of us growing up with the stripped-down rock feel that Guster has consistently brought us, this album can be somewhat of a dissapointment. But maybe that's the problem. Our hopes has been Guster will always stay the same as they always have been.

But like any great rock band, they have shown that they've grown up and...changed. They have completely made the change over to a full piece band and have found a much fuller sound than previous albums. Each song on this album has it's own unique feel and something special to say. If you have this album and expect it to be like "Lost and Gone Forever" or "Goldfly" then look elsewhere. Guster is growing up and making strides in discovering their potential as a full rock band.

This album was a big dissapointment to me. Goldfly, Lost and Gone Forever and Keep It Together were three of the best albums I have ever heard. This was just wasn't up to par. I wanted more bongos more...Guster. I didn't want this poppy stuff that made me feel like I was listening to some of the junk they play these days on the radio. Don't get me wrong there are some good songs...for instance The Capitan, Satellite, One Man Wrecking Machine, Hang On, Manifest Destiny...all good individually but as a whole can sometimes turn you off to the original Guster feel we all know and love. I saw them in concert recently and they were amazing...they sound tremendous live and were just awesome to watch and they played a really good mix. They also played some of their really new stuff like G Minor that sounded more like the old Guster. I still love Guster but this album was not as big of a hit for me as their other ones were. Hopefully they grow even more into their own sound that blends both old and new effortlessly and pricelessly so everyone can enjoy how wonderful they are!
