The Gossip might have cut its teeth as a soul/punk/garage outfit, but with Standing in the Way of Control, the band becomes so much more. Led by Beth's workhorse vocals and versatility, The Gossip twists soul, blues and funk into something new on this one.

SITWOC is not a one track album. Must hears include "Fire with Fire," "Jealous Girls," and "Yr Mangled Heart." Raw and righteous... it is hugely exciting that they are still finding their sound. |

This song is amazing, Ditto herself called it a fight against homophobia and capitalism. I think this is a song which is both great fun and phenomenally deep, the words can tell two people two different things about life or indeed themselves, but at the same administer a message of ‘I am what I am’. I cannot wait to see peoples reaction to jealous girls and I am hoping that the next single released will be ‘Fire with Fire’. |
