It’s an honest record – emotionally and sonically, made by people exploring sound in the warmth of home, not studio, and it is a brittle pairing of voices which sing of LOVE, COLOURS, LOSS, and WARNINGS.

It’s a curious mix that injects warmth into the icy waters of dance music. And, with its compelling oddness held in place by proper pop hooks, it’s one to play over and over.

'The Warning' succeeds where their debut failed because it just sounds so bloody effortless. The Warning is an accomplished and rewarding multi-genre crossover album; and while Hot Chip won't change your life or fill your musical belly to profusion, they still provide a damned tasty snack in the interim.
