Overall, I would say that this is Incubus' most solid effort. Its different than every single one their previous albums, while taking elements from each one and making something that is as diverse as it is cohesive. An excellent effort with only a few flaws scattered throughout. To Incubus: Keep going guys, you seem to know what's going on.

Incubus is back, and although this album is much anticipated by fans, there is also a varying level of skepticism that comes with mentioning it. Being that thier previous effort, "A Crow Left Of The Murder", wasn't so well received by their fans, I think that everyone is curious as to what this band will do next.

Incubus creates a paradox with Light Grenades, releasing their most "album-like" relesase yet still finding more new sounds on it than any other album. All in all, just another consistent release from Incubus.

Without a spark of excitement and risk, Light Grenades is just another modern-rock disc that plays by the numbers instead of being the explosive, illuminating affair its title would imply.

At its worst, Light Grenades is a little scattered, but when it's good, Incubus sound only like their hard-rocking sentimental selves -- ten years after being written off as a rap-rock band, that's no small achievement.

Lo and behold, and joy be among men, the new Incubus album descends to earth, and that's not even sarcasm. After three years, Light Grenades is unleashed on an unsuspecting populace. After the 'what-the-hell-is-this-rubbish' disappointment of A Crow Left Of The Murder, have Incubus returned to the level of Alt-metal demi-gods?

Unfortunately, i found this a really disappointing album. Being told by Kerrang that it's ace for Chili's lovers, i was totally disappointed with the lack of their previous funk and good intention. This album has so much potential, yet there is too much lacking. |

at first i was disappointed, since i enjoy their funk stuff like fungus amongus and enjoy incubus much better... but i feel like with every new CD they put out.. the more i listen to it the more i fall in love with it. they can play any kind of music and make it sound good |

Ugh... Incubus is one of my favorite bands... I gave it a 7 because it wasn't bad, but it wasn't as good as A Crow Left of the Murder, Make Yourself, Morning View, and S.C.I.E.N.C.E., meaning it was only better than The Fungus Amongus... I found it to be the second worst album.
Anna-Molly is a really addicting song, though. |

Yet another great album from Incubus, perfect mix of songs. Definitely as good if not better than the last three albums. Personally from what i've heard from science and fungus amongus, this is much better. |

This album is a step up from "A Crow Left of The Murder," and a step down from previous albums. At first the album sounds unsatisfactory, but after listening to it mroe and more, the album rocks. Some excellent tracks including Anna Molly, Dig, Oil and Water, and more. |

This album is great. Incubus never drowns their audience in the same stuff every album. They mix the style of music up and make it sound amazing. Truly talented and one of the best live bands in terms of music quality around. Great work! |

I love Incubus! This is one of their best albums yet!!! Very well put together. I love how they always sound different on each album. But they always keep that funk in their music. 10 out of 10 guys. Best tracks: Kiss to send us of, Dig, Anna Molly, Oil and water, Rogues (which is the Best of all, i think). The whole CD still ROCKS! |

i did not think i was going to like this album until i was in my friends car and we listened to the entire thing. it is a great album. they still have the rock you face of songs like rogues, a kiss to send us off, and light grenades and more meaningful songs like dig, love hurts and, oil and water. this is a fantastic album. all the song are great. i did not think they could put out a more intelligent than a crow left of the murder but this ones great too. |

This album will grow on you.At first i was dissapointed, but after listening to it for a while it began to grow on me.Dont give on "Light Grenades", after your first couple listens.I wish they could revert back to a Morning View or Make Yourself type of sound, but this album is still great. |

Out of the whole album there are about 5 really good songs. The other songs seem like they didnt really think about them. I must say this is one of Incubus's most disappointing albums. =*( |

From S.C.I.E.N.C.E all the way through A crow left of the murder Incubus has produced awesome and intelligent songs with the melodic rock sounds that many rock bands out there lack. After such huge success with all of their other albums it'd be hard to imagine that they could compose better music than that. But here we are proven wrong with the release of Light Grenades. By far its their best album yet. The songs vary from the in your face rock like pendelous threads and rogues to love and meaning with Dig, love hurts, and oil and water. Incubus just keeps getting better and better. They always outdo themselves. Brandon Boyd has the best voice in the world and with it enhances everything that Incubus is. Also their live show was amazing. Can't wait for another one. |

The only disappointment in this excellent album is guitarist mike einziger's crazy guitar solos. He sounds like he is mentally unstable during many of his solos, but his riffing is impeccable as ever. Boyd's vocal melodies are far less corny than those on Crow. |

This is by far the best incubus album yet. With heinous guitar riffs and catchy lyrics, Light Gernades is a must for anyone who claims to love rock. Oh, and it is a MUST for anybody's ski/snowboarding playlist while you dominate the mountains and catch some air. it gets my adrenaline pumpin while i hit kickers, fly down runs, and wipe out in the bowls of colorado's gorgeous mountains. |

Well, at least I didn't vomit by the end. Could they possibly have made an attempt at originality rather than taking progressions and hooks directly from other bands? Maybe, but they did not. |

I am a very big fan of Incubus and this album is very different from the others. Light Grenades has a few flaws, but you have to give it to Brandon and the boys for thinking outside the box and producing a highly original album. I would say it's one of their best albums and definently worthy of a chance. Go buy the album worth the 13 dollars. Long live Incubus ooowww<33 |

I thought the album was amazing its not a perfect 10 but its damn good. They show they can make great music in vairous styles. In my eyes Incubus is one of the best bands of this generation and as long as they continue make music to this standard i will always be a huge fan. My favorite songs on the album were Rouges and Paper Shoes simply AMAZING. |

they best not step too far out into new waters or they might complete uproot everything we, their original fans, love about them... i appreciate the effort, but alas i could not connect with the album... in my personal opinion, if it takes more than a couple listens to like an album, the album is likely not really worth listening to.. you're just TRYING to like it... and thats what i felt like i was doing...
sigh, oh how i miss the days of dj, funk and dirk..... |

Although this album has greatly diverged fom the past incubus albums, I feel that this is just as good as any of the others. This album was at first taken in cautiosly by fans, but personally after their release of S.C.I.E.N.C.E. it was pretty much guaranteed that they could play any type of music and make it awesome, also after seeing them play this album live in concert, i can say that this is one of my favorite Incubus albums ever. Light Grenades is Amazing live. |

I'm extremely selective when it comes to music, so when I first heard incubus, and actually took a moment to listen, I was more than pleasantly surprised. Six years later, with the release of Light Grenades, I can still say that they are the best band of my generation. I do not dare to compare Light Grenades to their earlier albums beacuse I actually respect their need to grow and evolve as individuals and as a band. Don't get me wrong, I still love S.C.I.E.N.C.E, Make Yourself, Morning View and ACLOTM, but it just pisses me off when I hear about fans abondoning incubus because they're not recreating another Make Yourself. Get over it! If those people actually took the time to listen to this album objectively, they would find that Light Grenades is the creation of a highly talented band. |

What I enjoy most about Incubus is their ever-changing sound. From Fungus Amoungus to Light Grenades, each album has a different feel, a different vibe I guess, yet it still has a certain "Incubus" sound, if such a thing even exists. The first three songs on the album ("Quicksand", "A Kiss to Send Us Off", "Dig") move so quickly and mesh so well together. They take you on a trip as "Quicksand" introduces what I believe to be the common theme throughout the album, confusion in love. "Some people fall in love and touch the sky Some people fall in love and find Quicksand I hover somewhere in between...I swear... I can't make up my mind". Which then moves swiftly into "A Kiss to Send Us Off", one of the most 'ear-pleasing' tracks off of the record, which is quite a diverse mix of music all in itself, from hard-hitting to catchy, a quick-paced contrast to the previous song. Then of course it moves onto a "Wish You Were Here" feeling track, "Dig", bringing the levels back down. I really enjoy this album. As with all Incubus albums, I find myself wondering why they chose one or two of the songs to be on the album (their only weak points), but the songs that are good make the other ones seem excusable. "Rouges" tops my list, along with "Earth to Bella Pt. I". Super album, can't wait for their next release to see what the boys do next.

Heres the thing (which in the end becomes a conundrum) as with any band, with the privelage (no pun intended) to have a large following and a huge section of devotees as fans, each and every album will be poised against the question of "is it better than the last one?" However, in my opinion, this is the wrong question to ask. one must ask themselves to what level have they progressed in their musical talents? and if any album was the pedistal which Incubus step onto...it would be A Crow Left of the Murder. Their progression in talent and differences in musical genius is the reason many "diehard" fans didnt exactly die hard. they heard something completely different and decided not to delve any deeper and find what they liked about it. Light Grenades is no different. They continue their climb toward the pinncale of their musical endeavors...and with a band like Incubus, the sky isnt even the beginning of limitations. |

I also felt what others on this site have described as being initially disappointed with this album, but liking it more and more as I listened. Although one could say that I am making myself like the album, I would disagree with this because I think that my initial disappointment was due to the fact that "Light Grenades" has a different sound than their other albums. Although there are a few weaker points to the album, I feel that those are more than made up for with some truly amazing songs, including my favorite Incubus song, Dig. In fact, it may be my favorite song of any group. I can't even begin to describe the feelings that that song evoked in me the first time I heard it. This was definitely a song that needed no second or third listen to confirm its sheer musical beauty. Overall, a great album that shows the band's tendency to re-invent itself yet still keep a distinct sound. |

Well, I enjoyed the album. There are great songs, like Dig, that's absolutely beautiful, and Anna Molly. It sounds "more rock" than others and, in spite of loving rock, I've missed their funk punch. I think the band is maturing and improving its style, but I still prefer Morning View and Make Yourself. Incubus will come to Brazil in may and I'm completely excited to watch their performance. :o) |

I've been an Incubus fan for quite some time now, anticipating every album since "Make Yourself". I find the reason I like this album is because it revisits the feel of "Morning View" which is my personal favorite. This cd sounds like they have matured their style and seem comfortable were they are at musically. Another reason they are good is because the progession of style each cd is completey different ranging from almost every style of music while remaining to their own sound at the same time. |

I give this album a 10. At first I was surprised, 'cause it's another kind of sound coming from Incubus. But it's an amazing album and they've just become better. They don't give the fans the same thing all the time and that's what makes Incubus interesting. They never bore me. WHOO INCUBUSSSSS |

The newly released album was nothing short of amazing. Incubus being my Favorite Band of all time, I vote that this Album has yet again, taken their music to the next level. Though I do agree with some that their early albums are somewhat better, Light Grenades just shows that they can pull off any style. Just about every single album's style has been different then the other. Simply amasing. |

I've never been a huge fan of incubus, they've always just been something to listen too. The only album i purchased was a crow left of the murder which i purchased simply to cure some curiosity about the band. i thought it was just okay, i liked a few songs off it alot, and didnt care for most. (which i believe is the case with most people) After chilling with my friend and hearing it, i decided to get the album, it's EXCELLENT! i really like it and i am defiantly curious to look into them more and cant wait to hear what they have next for us. MUCH better than crow. |

At first i was kinda shocked cause i thought that there was going to be a simmilar stuff to morning view or make yourself but then i was astonished becuase its such a well done album everything fits so perfect and brandon boyd has that amazing capacity to do awesome lyrics..and the two songs from the japanese edition are the best! Look Alive is one of my favorite´s incubus song! |

I have never heard of Incubus before and I was under the impression that it was a new group only to discover that they have many albums and been around for years. I enjoyed the Light Grenades album it was different. Dig is my favourite song and the video fits the song. I first heard it on VH1 during the early mornings and only then, but I liked the song soo much that I had to try the album. It was really difficult finding it in stores when looking for it Miami and I live in The Bahamas. Thanks to amazon.com I was able to get the album and so far I am enjoying it. |

Brandon Boyd wrote on the bands site that this album is thier best to date because they spent longer thinking about the structures of the songs and i think thats where they've gone wrong here as Incubus are a band that oozes talent and dosen't need to think much on structures dude!
Only about 5 good songs guys, bring back the slightly more heavier days!
Maybe if they made an album called 'Make a crow left of the murders' morning view.....yourself' |

What a beautiful album! Not only the sentimental songs, but the song that make you bang your head. Everyone thought this band would be no more than a 2 cd band. I am GLAD to say that they were ALL wrong. This album includes some of the most eloquently written lyrics and riffs i have ever heard. CHEERS! to incubus! Keep 'em coming! |

the album is orgasmic. it takes you to all sort of undiscovered feelings, from erotic to the most melancholic. there's a universal tendency to the album in which vocals, lyrics, rythm and musicality have combined harmonously to bring out an untangible effect to the listener. Very different yet so real somehow it's unreachable. |

I love all that Incubus has created. This album wasn't the best but it wasn't the worst. In my opinion all the cds have a ton of great songs and they continue to deliver what i would expect Incubus to deliver. Keep the albums coming, I don't want you guys to become house designers and decorators yet. Much love. T.P |
