This record is not over produced and its obvious that John didn't have to fight to keep it the way he wanted it during the recording process. The mellow, melodic and bluesy riffs put you in a groove that can set your whole day right. It's not a hurried record but rather lets the listener relax and enjoy John's voice and amazing sense of melody. The musicians are top notch and know how to carry a vibe. This record should have a whole lot of awards coming at it for sure.

I'd give this brilliant album a 9.5 if I could. Even a 9.75. But I can't bring myself to give an album a 10 (though I concede that it deserves it). I never would have considered myself a Mayer fan until I heard the album and (more importantly) let it stew. Mayer uses his significant (yet understated) songwriting abilities to get your attention and then hooks you with his much heralded guitar genius. Get this album. You will thank yourself. And, if you have the opportunity, see him live. I fully believe that the studio version of John Mayer pales in comparison to the intense performance he gives in person.

Continuum is proof that John Mayer is not like most of the artists out there today in the mainstream. The guy can sing and play amazingly well and he has a purpose and reason for playing. His lyrics are inspiring and his heart is in this world with political issues etc. My favorite songs would be Belief, Bold As Love, and Slow Dancing in a Burning Room, but this is one of the only albums I have ever bought where I have liked every song on it...thanks John for showing people the real meaning of "music" again

This was the first John Mayer album I have ever purchased. I saw the advertising for this album in a commercial and something told me to go pick up this album. He is one of the most talented and creative artist i have ever listened to. This album has had an immense impact on me and got me into blues music also. Since the day I brought this album I also picked up all of his older records since. Over each of his albums he has steadily improved. One can listen to this without skipping any songs. His music is just so inspiring!
