Unfortunately, Jewel also chooses to revert to the soppy musical formula of her 1995 debut, Pieces of You, proving that the more things change, the more they stay the same.

Sincerity is still her main trade, as are showbiz-as-Hades tropes and romantic confessionals. But somewhere beneath the Lilith earnestness glints something sharper.

Jewel sequences the 13 tracks to follow her well-documented early waif years in Alaska to her move to California, and observational fare like "Again and Again," "Fragile Heart" (a far-better version of a song that appeared on "0304") and "Long Slow Slide" stand with her very best.

Jewel calls this her most autobiographical disc since Pieces of You; aside from a couple of the wimpier cuts, it might also be her most listenable and likeable.

I still love jewel, of course her first album was better. When I here her music coming on, I think of my sister. She's a state away! And I really miss her... Jewel's got those songs that bring up good memories. |

"Soulfull" and so much the story in Goodbye Alice In Wonderland..........that here humanity rests.Critics are probably not as far into the transformation process and not as aware of reality as Jewel is.Her music is her jewel to the world. |

jewel is one of the most honest and down to earth artists around...whether it brings good or bad publicity she does as she wishes with her music....Her music is her. its not what she thinks people wants to hear its what she wants to share with the world...and for that one quality she is forever amazing |

Jewel is a genius when it comes to song writing and her voice is so unique. She has many more years to come. |
