The band seems excited that this album bears a "Parental Advisory Sticker"; to them it seems to be some form of street cred. Does this new-found adulthood bring with it musical maturity?

Minutes to Midnight, the band's third full length studio album, features Linkin Park in their most untraditional form. If you were a casual fan from the Hybrid Theory era and decided you want to check out the new album..you may be surprised at what you hear.

Linkin Park consider their third album to be such a departure from their nu-metal core values that the CD booklet explains each track's conception.

Old school punk and hip-hop might have looked cool on the blueprints, but as it turns out they were nothing more than half-cocked concepts.

I love Linkin Park, but after seeing the "Parental Advisory Sticker" that made me real disapointed, as I thought that this band would be a good non cussing band. |

Yes, Linkin Park does have a completely new and different sound, however it's still LP. The new sound is amazing and proves "Minutes to Midnight" to be a true masterpiece. Nice work guys! Thumbs up to Mike Shinoda and Rick Rubin! |

The Booklet is letting you understand the conception of each track through the eyes of the guys who felt it wrote it and this is something more than a third album... this is Linkin letting you know they own there very rock n roll seen |

The songs are alright. I can't say too much. They've taken away the rap-rock and heavy aggression. Now, their music says I'm in a corner and leave me alone while their old stuff says you've messed me up and tore me apart but I'm here and what are you going to do about it! |

Minutes to Midnight is a departure from LP's previous two albums. But it's a good change seeing as the "nu-metal" genre has seemingly slipped out of popularity. There is still hints of the old school LP with Chester's screaming. But Mike's rapping has dissapeared. Linkin Park has matured quite a bit with this album and it's a great thing. I enjoy this album! |

People should learn and accept that Linkin Park made a change so they werent just throwing out the same old thing every time. This album is really good if you dont think of it as the old Linkin Park. THink of it as a whole new band. Its a much deeper Linkin Park for sure and its not a bad thing. |

I true dissapointment. After a very long break from the world of new music, i was very excited to hear from Linkin Park again. Yet when i walk out of the store and throw this disc in the CD player of my truck almost instantly I felt like i was going to regret this purchase. It did get better but not till about over halfway through the CD. Who knows it might grow on me or even you but if your used to the old Linkin Park then i doubt it and i hope that if your a huge Linkin Park fan, first off im sorry this was alubm is so weak and then all hopes that Jay-Z can save this one too.... |

Everyone says this album isn't their best but they're crazy! It's all the rich guys out there who say it sucks because these guys have the right message! Listen to the music, read the lyrics at least before you write something bad. While the rich lay in bed all safe, these guys tell the story of the poor who fight the war. Definatly a government, war, sexual bashing of everything in our world. We are minutes from midnight. Our world's going to blow and all we can focus on is ourselves. Props to Linkin' Park for showing us all the way. Perfect 10! |

One Word Review: Dissapointment. I'm a huge fan of both Hybrid Theory and Meteora, and I know artists are supposed to renew themselves once in a while, but this is almost embaressing. It's hard to see, why it took them so long to get this album together, as it seems almost childishly bad at some points. I feel like they've toned down (or turned off!) every element of their previous recordings and added a lot of blah blah like swearing (why's that needed all of a sudden?!?) and a bunch of pop-ballads... I'm bored during the most of this album and it's a darn shame as Linkin Park has been one of my favourite bands ever since Hybrid Theory. But unlike their previous releases, I don't think I'll pay that much attention to this one and it definitely wont win my heart. I'm giving it 2 points - one for the lyrics, as they're still able to put together some quite lyrics (most of it, anyway), and one for the few good tracks where I can at least recognise Linkin Park; "Leave Out All The Rest", "What I've Done" and "No More Sorrow" is actually alright songs, it's just too bad, that the rest is over all bad. PS: If you like all the tracks that I don't, check out the danish band Carpark North - you would almost think, that LP has done it and liked their sound... |

After hearing "What I've Done" I could not wait to get the new album, but then there was that "Parental Sticker". I was extremely disappointed. One reason that I loved Linkin Park in the old days was that they DID NOT CUSS everthing all to pieces like most everyone else in that genre. They could say what they were trying to say without that crud mouth. And their music was absolutely wonderful in Hybrid Theory and Meteora, I was hoping that this new one would be the same, but, Oh Well!!!! Very Disappointed!!! |

I have to agree with a lot of people, this album was just a disappointment to me. One of the main reasons I always liked LP was because they didn't sound like all the other bands out there. Then I get this album, and what do I start hearing but the same crap all over the airwaves. I miss the old LP, back in the days of Hybrid Theory and Meteroa. |

It was good but could have more rapping. I understand its a new sound and they don't want to have another meteora or hybrid theory but they should have shinoda spit his words more. But its good nonetheless. |

in the end, i think this was a great step in the right direction for LP. they are taking their status as a band more serious, and they have grown up substantially. no i'm not saying that cursing makes you more mature. they only used profanity when it was necessary, and to show more emotion like in the song Hands Held High. so in the end, this was their best move... props to you LP, and just say SHUTUP WHEN I'M TALKIN TO YOU!! awesome album once you actually realize that LP has changed for the better. i mean really, how many of you would have said that LP is unoriginal and can't think of anything else to write about if they did another album like HT or Meteora. just accept this fact, LP is a diverse band, and they can conquer any genre and make it sound good. also, since HT and Meteora were so good, they probably felt no need to continue in that direction, plus, from the articles and interviews i've read, it sounded like LP wasn't happy with that rap/rock style... look at their live performances now, they seem much more happier to be playing the new songs and they seem to be having more fun now... so put away all your selfishness and accept the fact that, even tho they changed their sound, LP is still LP... |

I love the new album. It just shows how great a band Linkin Park is. They can rap and rock. Even if they sang country music, i wouldn't care, because Linkin Park is jus a great band. The new look and style is a good change, and it suits LP. I give the album a thumbs up! The only thing i can critique on is that, maybe a bit more fo Mike rapping would be better, and maybe a few more fast paced songs. Thnx :):) |

ok, i was definitly shocked when i heard lp got rid of their "nu-metal" stuff, i loved their old albums and this one sorta does it for me, like "No More Sorrow" is a tight song, but then like some of the other ones feel like lp is trying to put me to sleep, like maybe the songs will grow on me the more i listened to them, but i was not fully impressed the first time like i was with Hybrid Theory and Meteora, maybe in the next couple years if they're still a group they'll go back to their older, better stuff |

Yeah, Linkin Park cahnged A LOT, but there changes are good. I still miss the old Linkin Park with the rapping, and the screamo parts, but the music is just as good. |

This album is good and maybe better quality than their older ones but they had a lot of stuff in this album that was either uneeded and unwanted. one thing that i really diddnt like is that they had to use profanity in this album; it would have been much better without another thing is that even though their lyrics have the right messege they could have sung them to cooler music. even though a lot of the album was below expectations, they still had some good songs like "No More Sorrow", "Given Up"(besides the prfanity), and "What Ive Done." its fine that they are experimanting with new kinds of music, but they shouldnt have made so many soft songs. |

I dont know what you say, but I give it a ten. I totally hated Linkin Park untill now. True, their song with Jay-z was pretty good, but the other ones got so boring after just listening to them twice each, except for numb, which only sounds good turned up real loud. I love their new cd, and what's wrong with swearing, anyway? |

I for one am a HUGE lp fan. I didnt like the fact that they had the parental advisory sticker on it, but very good. I like their new music, and i like that they have some slow songs, some rock and a little rap. Some of their songs are like their old ones, but some of them have a deeper level than before. Their old ones were good, but if you didnt know who they were, it would sound all the same. This way they at least have different songs. Very well done |

The only word that I can say about this album is why?Why did they change their sound? They were awesome in Hybrid Theory and meteora! Why doesn't Mike rap as much now? He's in like 3 songs! And why do they feel the need to curse now??The only songs that are OK are What I've done,No More Sorrow and Given Up,the latter probably being the closest to actually sounding like linkin park(except for saying f**k like 10 times throughout the song!). |

Linkin Park like any other band evolves over time. To not evolve would to be sub-human. I particularly enjoyed the CD in the fact that it is different and still LP. Mike Shinoda singing on a couple of tracks, different musical elements, and other things add to the elements of the music. I love this CD and was glad to hear something a little mixed up considering I've been a fan for years. And by saying they should return to their old sound is like saying they shouldn't branch off...it's obvious most of the public is desperately afraid of change...but LP sure isn't. |

Minutes to Midnight is the release I've been waiting for since the second I finished playing Meteora for the first time. Forget old Linkin Park, I played it to death. I loved it, still do, and always will. Thus said, New Linkin Park fulfills me as a LONG TIME fan. Undoubtably it is different, and a lot of people that listen to a genre rather than a band will dislike or even hate it. But Linkin Park cares not for these fans, they care mainly about streatching their band to its limits, this time expanding lyrically, politically and musically. Most of the things heard on this CD are excellent in their own right, and I love it all. But the back and forth of heavy then slow throws it off a bit. And while it ends on the slow part, it also leaves you wanting so much more...like those other 4 or 5 albums they are contractually obligated to release. Mind you, the CD is excellent and gets a 9 from me, it just leaves you wanting to know what comes next. Just look at the difference over the past 4 years, I'm excited to see the next 4. I'll be a fan then too. |

Ever since they teamed up with jay-z they have been a dissapointment im at a lost for words |

I'd love to give this album a 10, but I can't. I love Linkin Park, and the album is amazing, very deep lyrics and stunning performances, but not something that I would constantly listen to. Still an amazing record, and still one of my favorites, just because its LP and no one can put an LP record in the "Alright" section of their CD case, and if you can, you are the Antichrist. LOL. Nah, but yeah. Its a good album. Great work, LP. Keep it coming. |

I love Linkin Park. I really do. But unfortunatley I am dissappointed with the new sound. I like the old LP better. I did enjoy a few songs though such as Given Up and What I've Done mainly cause they stood to there old sound. When Slipknot changed their sound for Vol. 3, I was surprised and the cd was one of their bests. However, LP unsuccessfully pulled off their change. The slower songs are just not good. |

It's pretty good, despite the fact that they went through a complete change in sound. Some on the songs are not terrible, my favorites are "No More Sorrow" "Given Up" "Bleed It Out" and "In Pieces." Lyrically, this album is amazing. I had a bunch of excitement built up for this one because i expected another "Hybrid Theory," but appearently that was too much to ask for. it's not bad altogether, i just think it could've been way better. |

Okay, so the CD does have the parental advisory sticker. yea, when I first discovered the band I liked the fact that they could get their points across without the use of vulgarity, but I dont think theyre trying to be more grown up now by swearing. The song "What Ive done" bears just as much meaning as the songs in Meteora or Hybrid Theory. They are just trying to explore a new form of expression. Let them swear! Jesus its a good album if you ask me. And I dont care that it took them such a long time to get out, they were busy looking into solo albums, and in my opinion, Mike's Fort Minor is a very big accomplishment. I am proud of the boys and this album, whereas its not my favorite, I think they did a great job. As far as it not sounding like the old Linkin Park, would you expect other bands such as Aerosmith, ACDC or Metallica to sound the exact same as when they started? NO! give them a break! theyve been at this music game for a while here! |

First of all, why is everyone so worked up about them swearing a couple of times in only a few songs. It really doesn't matter that much. I think the only problem with this album was Shadow Of The Day. I wanted to listen to Linkin Park not U2. I love it anyway. |

That sounds like your problem. First of all, if you are really a fan then you will love it. Sure there other stuff was great but so is this!
Now the only cussing there is is "fuck" and "fucking"
If your lil ears cant stand them, then boohoo. Thats hard to believe though.

The most common misconception about this album is the Parental Advisory sticker. There is I think 3 songs that have cussing, and it comes out no more than 2 times per song. Its not every word. I was also a little upset, but the album is great! If you like Linkin Park, even if u like the old sound, you will still like this album. |

This album i think is one of there best. It has such a strong message but some of you fools just can't see it! Their "old sound" was great and i enjoyed it, but this is something deeper now and although they have changed it seems more grown up. I love the lyrics, they actually mean something. You guys need to get over it, Linkin Park is Linkin Park and that will never change. |

Hardcore linkin park fan here. LINKIN PARK HAS BECOME EVERY BAND THAT IS OUT TODAY!! EMO!!!! Look at them, they used to be punk ass. Now they're all I wanna slit my wrists. Its pathetic. If we wanted to listen to bands like Hinder, Hedley, Good Charlotte we would. But Linkin Park was that band that was completely different from everyone else. Everyone loved that including myself. They stayed away from mainstream and thats what made them soo successful. It looks like they have been sucked into todays crappy music. Im hugely dissapointed on this album. Meteroa was one of the best albums of all time, So I wasnt expecting Midnight to Madness to be better. Their lyrics are meaningful, they always have been. In the end, Crawling. listen to those lyrics. What I've done, No More Sorrow, Lyrics are still meaningful. But it's just not Linkin Park.. They're just like every band now a days.... Huge let down. |

This album is a hardcore rock album. Some parents would think overly hardcore. That reason would be that this disc bears a parentaql advisory sticker. I know that some parents do not like curse words. They should get over that because this is a free country. How3ever it has rap and some what of a screemo edge to it. That is what makes all of Linkin Park albums show. Mixing rock and rap is a unique combonation. Not that many bands would able to pull off this type of musical combonation. |

It's not bad, by any means. Some of the songs have changed greatly, but some of them still have the feel of the old Linkin Park. They have definately changed, but it's still the same people. People change over time, and obviously so does LP. The lyrics are overall good, and the fact that some/most of the songs have a deeper meaning to them is a plus as well. I give it 9 because it still has some of those hawt screams. Mike sounds like he's rapping with Fort Minor though, and not Linkin Park. |

I believe that some people are being way too hard on the new LP cd. Personally when i heard it i was like 0_0 cause it was way different than i expected, but i chose to give it a chance and the songs grew on me easily, but a lot of that has to do with my diverse music taste so this whole album fits my music tastes easily, i just don't want to hear people bagging on linkin park because they dared to do something new, and in my opinion they did a damn good job for trying new sounds. |

This is by far the best album that Linkin Park has put out. A lot of fans are upset because of the change of style, but it's what they wanted to do. This is a "grower" album, so if you don't like it the first time, it may take a while, but it will grow on you. These 6 guys are some of the greatest musicians I have ever had the pleasure listening to. |

Shadow of the Day Valentine's Day Both new and refreshing style of LP, much like the style of My December, but still slightly less fantastic. My December is one of LP's best. Anyway, Leave Out All The Rest, No More Sorrow, and ofcourse What I've Done are simply amazing, i loved them, and i like that they've started using the F word :) |

After 4 long years, Linkin Park has re-surfaced and has come back with their third installment, "Minutes to Midnight".
Being a huge fan of Hybrid Theory and Meteora, I did see a pattern where after each album, they lowered the amount of Nu-Metal.
Though Chester DID say that the "Nu-Metal was completely gone", the song "Given up" seemed unfaithful to the new CD.
Although, we all miss their old style, their new one was very unexpected but it's something new and fresh. As a true fan of Linkin Park, I love this CD.
And for everyone else who doesn't like their new CD, then quit complaining and keep listening to Hybrid Theory and Meteora, and get over it. |

I have to admit it... this album is not like the tow previous one and it's not the Linkin Park band I know!. I was shock to see that all the heavy and rock style weren't really there and that Mike Shinoda'rap was gone! However, Minutes to Midnight shows that LP have grown up. They're talking about what's happening in the world, about real things. Still, they could have done it with the heayvy-rock style. |

Yeah, its diiferent, but their new sound realy amazed me with the way they pieced together Mike's rapping and Chester's screaming and siging. By the way, Chester has THE BEST voice in rock music today, in the song "Given Up" on theur new album, he screams for 17 straight seconds, now that, is good, heavy rock music. but anyway, yeah the new concept of their new songs just blew me away. ill admit that the whole deal about they wanted their obsessed x-girlfriend to leave them alone and get out of their life in Hybrid Theory and Meatora, was getting a little old, but i love the big change-up to where they are singing about the bigger problems in today's world. |

What a catastrophe. This is so not Linkin Park. I myself am a huge fan of their previous albums and this is not what I expected of LP. Some of the songs, like What I've Done, Given Up and No More Sorrow, are reasonably good but not really up to the standard. To me it feels like LP is going into failed love songs, what a bunch of softies. |

Linkin Park may have changed they're sound ut it was for the better I think. They didn't want to make a "trilogy" as Mike put it. If you buy this CD, by the one with the DVD and watch the making of and you'll gain a whole new appreciation for what LP did with this record. And for everyone b*tching about how Mike is barely on it, go buy Fort Minor-The Rising Tied. Oh wait, you guys didnt like the cussing in it either. Oh well, I guess you're sh*t outta luck. |

But hearing this album has made me regain where I left off.

At first ampresion the album sounds like difrent band or more like pop band !!! But if you hear the album second time you will find that's album is real masterpeace and not less good then other LP albums! Linkin Park took other way to ampress themselfs and with the new album that they show up you will walk with theirs songs in your head for weeks! And if you think about it , if Linkin Park was show up with the same sound that they were doing in last two albums they were just had become boring and not original and their album was just complite failure! And besides all band are passing age 30 they got to do somthing more deeper mature!!! |

This album was quite a surprise after I listened to it expecting it to be like their other two albums. My first reaction was WTH!?! they're cursing too? they suck! but after reading and listening to the songs, finally realize there is so much meaning behind them. Even though LP has taken a huge step in a different direction, they have definitely matured in the right direction. |

I really am disappointed by this new album. I am a HUGE fan of Hybrid Theory and Meteora and to hear this was a shock on how much they decided to change. I know they wanted to get out of the "nu-metal" genre but that is what the fans liked. They shouldn't care what they were being labeled as. If they wanted to get away from that genre they should have gone heavier or not done so much rapping. I don't know, but I don't like this album. The drums and guitar riffs sound really good but you still can't rock out to it. They really went too soft on this album. I still love Linkin Park though and I respect them. |

I was surprised when i heard it first, its different from the previous ones. But at once i noticed that the ballady feel to it is a sense of them maturing and not regressing. You can't always have the same sound and one always needs diversity and change. I say this is a good change. I do miss the feel of the old but its a welcome sound nonetheless. The lyrics are meaningful as always and the profanity is uncalled for but conveys emotion so i understand why its there. Good job LP! Keep it going! |

Great album... The lyrics of this album KILLS the other albums' lyrics... The music is also great but you cant compare it to Hybrid Theory and Meteora music Yet the lyrics makes up for it So I guess it evens out and this album is as great as the rest I cant choose between Hybrid Theory, Meteora and Minutes to Midnight... If you dont like it dont stop listening it... I dint like it in the beginning but now I cant stop listening to it... The main thing is keep listening to it and understand the lyrics and you'll love it |

Everyone says that this is a major dissapointment. I hope Linkin Park knows what they have done. I absolutely love the album, and yes it is a major difference then Hybrid Theory and Meteora, but it is still a great album. Sure, the cussing was a surprise, but I still love the album. LP wanted to grow, and mature. Why bother making a new album if it is just the samething? No sense in remaking the same songs over, LP already did that a few times to Hybrid Theory. Another band that changed their sound is Avenged Sevenfold, they changed their sound and created a rift between the new fans and the older fans. The band loves their third album (both LP and A7X) but their fans either like only the third one, or only like the first two or what, but you have to have respect for LP for trying to evolve. If you are dissapointed, then return the album or put it away. Dont listen to it. If you like the album then listen to it, love it, share it. Its what LP hopes for you to do. They enjoyed making it and they want us to enjoy it too. |

I think this album was overall really good, now i agree with all the people saying their old stuff was the best and what not, but u have to understand that bands change. i dont think this change will hurt them in any way. I would have liked to have heard a lil more rapping from mike, but other than that nothing wrong with this cd... and ppl come on GROW UP cussing is not the worst thing in the world, although i did like the fact that they could get their point across without doing it. but its not bad and it seems to add emotion to some songs, and its nice to see when an artist is actually showing he cares about his music. i enjoyed the cd and will be for a while. |

Why are people so complaining over the cussing thingy? I wouldn't call it cussing, fuck and fucking? Its not like the end of the earth and you're probably using those words every day! I admit that at first I was a little bit disappointed, what happened to the old Linkin Park? I wanted more rapping from Mike and more screaming from Chester but after really listening to the songs and lyrics, I like "Hey, its pretty good after all!". You've gotta give it a chance! But still, nothing can replace 'Hybrid Theory' and 'Meteora', that's why I cant rate 'Minutes To Midnight' 10. This new album is worth a strong 9, I mean who can get 'What I've done' out of their heads? (: |

i have been a Fan of Linkin Park for a very long time and i will always be a fan and love music when its good..and this music is good..unlike all the people who keep critising the band for the new sound..i embrace it because i am a diverse music listener unlike the ones who seem to hate this album..it is quite obvious that those who hate it just hate the fact that the new songs are not the kind of music they want to listen to.. i rate this album based on its overall quality in terms of the music itself. not what the guys did before nor what type of music it is. this album is to be rated on THE MUSIC ITSELF and it is good. all the tracks are good. even though i might not like the swearing it does not take away from the fact that the songs are all good. i am disappointed by all u people who claim u are music fans and cant love the album for what it is and not how different it is from the things they did before.. OVERALL 10! great work u guys and i love this album..it was worth my money just like all the others! |

It is a very great album. It's sure they change their style and nobody can deny that. But it's because of that that it isn't good. And the one that says «it changes completly, it's not the same», listen carefully and you'll see old things. It sure Chaz doesn't screem as much as before, Mikey raps less and Mr Hahn doesn't scratch as much and at first, it disapointed me. Especially when I saw the Explicit Lyrics Advisor. I thought it was much than five to ten curse in all the CD. But I realized it was almost the same and that it wasn't what I thought first. The lyrics can be compared to before, they mean something and you can still attached to them. The sound is very good and has matured a lot. Their old stuff was better, but they cannot always stuck on the same kind of things. In the end, it stays the same and you don't have much inspiration. Well, I really appreciate the CD and I'm still a big fan of them even if their music changes, I see they're just like before. |

The effort and time they have spent making htis album is a statement to their fans. they love our support over the years and they know were their ready and waiting for a new album what ever it sounds like. Dissapointment is the word i use for the so called linkin park "fans" who bitch about swearing and the change over from nu-metal. go into any music store and 90% of the albums will have the Parental Advisory Sticker on them.
Linkin park has changed for the good and it is great to see that they care about their fans so much to put so much effort into it.
also btw if u wanna bitch about it... you can go make ur own songs and try sell them. then read the reviews you get.

1. MTM is sincere and genuine, regardless of whether you like the "new" feel/sound in many of the songs. What I liked about their previous albums was their ability to convey a message I connected with. MTM achieves the same result. Good lyrics, good music. Real. 2. Many of the songs seem conciously raw, as if LP purporsely held back or was careful not to overmix it - Shadow of the Day, for example. The result is a raw, rock feel to even those songs not incorporating heavy guitar. Love it. 3. Am I missing something, but I seem to have picked up a version of the album that does not have a parental advisory sticker. So in "Bleed it Out," Mike's "going out of my ___ mind" is just that - you never hear the swear word. And I haven't heard a swear word yet. Are there two versions of MTM out? Regardless, I like the no-swearing version that I have....I've always liked that about LP's past albums |

For those of you that don't like the new album, you've lost it. This album, in my opinion, is friggin awesome. The new feel to there music is simply amazing. Brad with the solos, Mike is singing more, Phoenix's bass tracks are a lot stronger, the driving tempos, the energy, the lyrics hit some really good points, everything about the album is awesome. They put a lot of work into this album and it shows. Linkin Park is hardcore and that's all there is to it. |

this album is overall a somewhat surprise however, there are a few songs that i feel would fit in well on an album to the calibur of Meteora or HT. If this wasnt what i was expecting from linkin park, then i think i would enjoy the compilation so much more. I give LP props for branching out, and for everyone who feels like this isnt LP, it may not be. But it may be a branch into some great new music or some revival from the past that we all had been expecting. |

I have never liked a band so much that I bought every album and liked every song they made - that is until LP - they appeal to every age and genera - the new album is no different - and for those of you who are against cussing you can buy the album where they have taken the cussing out - I think they will stand the test of times and those who are TRULY LP fans will follow! This new album is absolutely incredible. The lyrics, although a little different, still focus on the issues that need to be focused on, such as our corrupt goverment and essentially the wrongdoings we all have committed to this once pure world. I really liked their old music that had a hiphop/rock mix, but there is still some of that savor existing in their tracks. I think its a great album regardless of a few swear words in it. :) |

Okay, so it's not like the other Linkin Park CDs, but it wasn't a complete disappointment. I was very shocked to see the parental advisory sticker as well as a lot of other people were, but it wasn't as bad as I had expected... The lyrics to almost every song are very moving, if you can look past the song itself and look at the words. I knew when buying this cd that it wasn't going to be like the other albums, but I am satisfied with it. |

There is a severe lacking of linkin park elements in this album. What happened to Joe? He's almost completely non-existant in this album. That was my favourite part of meteora, in "don't stay" that opening scratch solo is amazing. but you almost never hear him in the new album. The album is still ok, but half of it puts me to sleep. To be honest, listening to songs like "given up" and "no more sorrow" I was really reminded of AFI. All the choruses sound like the punk sound they have and even chesters screaming sounds like them. It's really disappointing because the thing that made linkin park so good was the fact that they had their own sound, and you could tell when it was a linkin park song, but now they just sound like everyone else. I hope that they can re-invent themselves again, not saying they have to go back to their old sound, but i don't think this new sound works for them either so they need to find a way to bring the new lyrics into a better sound. I really don't like listening to all the slow songs on here because it gets boring after a while. That's all I have to say. |

I laugh at this whole, "OMG THEY CUSSED" thing people have for the album. Oh my god chester dropped a f bomb. Sorry people but you need to get out of this fantasy of squeaky clean lyrics. Cussing is not horrible, and grow up a bit. The album is alittle slower than normal, and people love the old stuff. Time to step away from that and see it for what it is.
To me the CD is alright. Some good songs i can relate to, and some songs that i loose interest in. It happens. Mike Shinoda rapping on two songs, sucked for me, but he had a whole side project dedicated to him, time for chester to get a chance don't you think.
This badn stepped it up to me, and it doesn't up set me that they cussed. Listen to Fort Minor then you'll really be upset. Give it a chance, and listen to it not because of what you are used to cuz everyone changes ( even music bands) listen to it for their idea change, and that they are growing up and the crap that they were is not working for them anymore. PLus its not the crap on the radio right now. |

Great Album no doubt about it. The thing that sets it below Meteora and Hybrid Theory is the energy level. The energy level is too inconsistent. One seconed, Chester is belting a song out (Given Up, What I've Done and, No More Sorrow) the next he tunes it down and whines, (Shadow of the Sun, Leave Out All the Rest). Some of the slower stuff is good but it lacks energy and Mike Shinoda. He needs to rap not sing, and that's another fault of the album. Other than that, I truley like the album. I like how its different and they tone it down with some slow stuff, but in some spots, its too much. Great album, just not as good as we've come to expect from Linkin Park. If they take this sound, add more rapping Mike, and kick start the sound with some energy and they might have something. Here's hope that they get it right next time. |

I give it a one. I don't even have the CD and all I did was look it up on YouTube and by then I just thought "This is very dissapointing." Reanimation, Hybrid Theory, and Meteora were better. There was no freakin' need for cursing. I mean come on do they want to end up like all the other rappers that just plain curse andd rap about sex and violence? Man, and I was just starting to like this band. I hate what they've done. They freakin' messed up the meaning of the other three CD's. |

I think a lot of devoted LP fans are trying to like this album but cant because its become too much like all of the other bands out there. I have to say that i still think this a good album and i like all of the tracks on it, but what i liked most about the old albums was that they offered something different, with chesters screaming and all of the turntable effects - it was proper rap metal. But now theyve turned almost to rock, and political issues have become infused into most of the songs on the album. It seems nowadays that songs have to have a clear meaning behind them and you just cannot get away with plain old good music like faint and numb. I do like this album a lot but for me, and by the looks of it, most others, this album does not have the same "listenability" as the older albums. I think that the highlights of this album though are the heavier guitar and bass, especially in 'given up' and 'leave out all the rest'. All in all, a great album which should have been done by a different artist. |

Alright, I guess I'm gonna end up saying the same thing everyone else says. I didn't like the CD to begin with, because it was different. Now I love it, and I'm hoping other people will be able to learn to accept it like I have. If you look back, Hybrid Theory and Meteora were pretty different as well, where Meteora was much heavier and closer to metal than HT was. I do however have a problem with the cursing. I knew it was going to happen, and I'm fine with cursing on CDs, but I feel like LP was able to avoid cursing with creative lyrics before, and then I read in the booklet that it took them over a year to write the lyrics, which I was disappointed that they ended up with curse words by the time they were done. One last thing, was that they are a little more... descriptive I guess I could say, on this CD. Before it was like "take everything from the inside, and throw it all away" and now it's something like "she cheated on me and i want to throw that out the window and..." (yes I realize there's really no part in any of the songs that say that.) My point is that the statements used to be generalized, and now it seems like they are being more direct with their personal problems, which I'm fine with, but the band is treading on thin water, because of the parents who have already blamed them for their kids suicides or killing rampages.
Overall, an 8 from me. I do love this CD, and I do still respect Linkin Park, but there were just a few little things that I think they could've done better. Of course, they could always do better, as can any other band, but it makes me sound insightful to say that. |

LP are my favourite band and I have every song of thiers I can lay my hands on!
Hybrid theory was a blessing and a curse, it is imo one of the best albums I have ever heard, but that means that anything they do now is compared to it!
I personally love minutes to midnight, it is a new sound, as I think they needed to escape Hybrid Theory, however the new sound works. At first I was dubious, but after repeated listens I think this album is great, it is nothing like Hyrid Theory and I doun't think it should be compared with it, this is another fantasic album from a fantatsic band. |

I have to admit, I really love the old Linkin Park sound. That's the stuff I fell in love with. But I love them for making this album. It's so new and different. What's wrong with a litte change? The band just wanted to try something else. I really love the songs too. Great lyrics, mellow and slow, different. Very nice. Of course, the old Linkin Park sound is still present on this album. Some people have to realize that even members of bands do grow up someday!! I feel this is an awesome album and as a Linkin Park fan, would undoubtedly like anything they put out anyway. I, however, am appreciative of their exploration and a slight digression into a different sound, and their more "mellow" songs still have LOTS to say. I also rather like the odd "f" word here and there! Even though they are not screaming at the top of their lungs in angst, they still ROCK! |

okay theres a few things that need to be stated 1) them cussing is not a big deal honestly its jsut a word ppl 2) if you like the old sound theres songs on this album that almost have some type of similar sound to it. Look linkin park went a different way music wise is that a bad thing no in there other songs they were very hardcore but there had a hard sound to almost everything which is amazing but unbalanced to appeal to everyone they needed to find a way to put both hardcore linkin park and a softer linkin park together. So they have songs like in pieces, what ive done, bleed it out, given up, no more sorrow those are amazing songs that should appeal to ppl who like the old linkin park for ppl who didnt maybe they are more vocal ballad based which is fine because this album has grt lyrics and meaning towards it, if u listen to most of there soft song they have a message towards them hands held high,in between, the little things give u away, leave out all the rest and so on. Lyric wise i think they have done a amazing job, they brung moreguitar into the mix they tried to make everyone happy with this and i think they did a good job
songs: old lp fans given up leave out all the rest bleed it out what ive done no more sorrow in pieces
songs: lyric greatness (in addition to the ones on the top) hands held high in between the little things give u away
songs: that are okay shadow of the day valentines day
when u listen to the album have an open mind hear the lyrics hear the new sound close and i am a huge LP fan since day one dvds and all =]

Lnkin Park's old stuff really did get great reviews. Minutes to Midnight is a disappointment to many people because it sounds different. That was actually the only change in their music. Linkin Park still has the lyrics where many people can relate to. If you are a real fan, you wouldn't be hating Linkin Park because of this change. You'd be proud that they decided to take a risk with this album. Linkin Park has showed us that it really doesn't matter how good the pitch was or whatever, all that mattered was that you felt all the emotion. Minutes to Midnight will definitly be a memorable album. |

ok, first off, i would just like to mention that im a die-hard linkin park fan! infact, couple of years back, i convinced a whole internet group that lp was the greatest band ever! but i must say, I AM HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED! now dont start judging, its not because im against new sounds! infact, when mike went off and started fort minor, i loved it, and loved all their song, because no matter the type, (rap, rock, and etc...) linkin park rocks! but their new album, was a huge disappointment! and i agree with the guy that said it was put together poorly, and almost child-like! i got nothing against their swearing, what matters is the music, and tat was disappointing in this album! lp has always been known for their unique, and basically lyrics that mean something! and though they had that in this album, they had lost their awsome sound, AND THE ONE THEY FOUND SUX! up until "minutes to midnight", i have never heard a inkin park song that i didnt like, (and that includes fort minor) but, after this new album, that statement, is no longer true! i hope they go back to their old style, and not worry about their "street cred". swearing, or becoming more metallica, and hip-hop like isnt gonna make them more populare! what makes them populare, is their unique style! thats what everyone LOVES about linkin park! and somewhere along the way, they have lost sight of that, and as a true fan, i pray, that they realize this, and just be themselves, and though it may be a little corny, its what they are known for! |

Hey. Every sound LP makes is great. The new album isn't THAT bad. It's just different. I don't like changes. When I first heard the album, I fell in love with it. But then I realized I liked the older album's better. I hope they will go back to nu metal, if there is going to be a next album.
7 from me. It's good, but I know they can do better. 'Given up', 'Bleed it out' and 'Valentines day' is pretty good songs, though. |

It's a far stride from Hybrid Theory and Meteora, thats for sure. It's definately an album that they can look at then try to do better on their next (if there will be a next). There's plenty of good songs. Then there's the songs that I find myself pressing the skip button. It was also different from their previous albums to the extent of lyricism. The songs were more based on what is currently going on and huge issues. Not issues that are most common like breaking up, running away from home, losing everything, etc. These songs are more direct on what they are talking about. A little joy lept into my heart when i saw the "parental advisory" sticker. The albums I bought with that were for the most part better than albums with out. And I enjoy hearing the complete song in stead of bleeps, cancelling, and statics. It also gives a realism to songs. Since we live in (musically) a generation of cursing. But in some of the songs in seemed rather un-needed. But when Chester (lead singer) screamed and cussed in seemed more appropriate then to proclaim the anger in the song. Two specific songs "In Pieces" and "In Between" I became rather bored with. "Shadow Of The Day" started out like a Nine Inch Nails song and continued into a soft rock song. Something Linkin Park is not known for. They definately experimented in this album. There are touches of emo rock, a rather famous genre now. It's not the best album I've ever heard but a handful of the songs may be in the running in my book. If LP makes another album, please work off this and correct the mistakes and make another batch of songs that will suprise us and pleasure us. |

I would have to say that this new album throws into a shock in which i haven't yet tottally figured out if i like it yet. It was very different from the previous album's they have done. i absolutely loved hybrid theory and meteora, and now they have minutes to midnight, and im not sure what to think. I really like the song "bleed it out" but im not sure upon the other songs. I think the parental control sticker was quite strange, i really didnt know what to think when i saw it the night i brought it home. It was more of a shock, and i knew that moment i saw it, that it was going to be a way different cd then expected. But i think the change really helped thier image. |

People are complaining that this LP album is nothing like their old stuff and I agree. It's not the same. But you have to remember that Mike SHinoda just put out his own album not to long ago called The Rising Tide with Fort MInor. Minuets to Midnight didn't need as much rapping due to Mikes side project. This album was put out to show off Chester's talent. If you listen to both those albums together it's PHAT! |

Whilst many people think that LP isnt as good anymore i ask you one question... how is it that they still sell out multiple shows and have crowds hanging onto their every word?
Sure LP dont have as much of the same structure -rap, scream, a lil more rap, before breaking into angry chants about how lifes not fair and people should leave them alone - but its now a much more mature LP with interesting, dynamic songs.
Maybe some will foind the jump from heavy track to slow a little hard to follow on the album but i beg of you, give it a chance.
Tracks to download: What I've done, Bleed it out and leave out all the rest. |

It's normal that a band need to change his style to explore new sounds. At my ears, the CD is not bad, but a little bit too smooth. Where is Shinoda ? I think it's only a question of adaptation for the fans of LP. But we are far away from Figure.09 and Place for My Head |

I bought it for one song. I loved it for the whole album. Just about every track is perfection. There are songs that longtime LP fans will like (Given Up, Bleed it Out) and slower songs that newfound appreciators can enjoy (The last 3 songs on the album). Yes, they curse on this one, which will deter some people, but on the CD it says that this is them trying out new things, pushing themselves in new directions. When Mike Shinoda actually sings and doesn't rap, its quite a surprise that they hadn't tried this avenue out before. It's been 4 years since Meteora came out. A lot happens in 4 years, and just as people change so do bands and the music they play. If you're stuck in 2003 then I'm sorry, but this is '07. |

so yes i will agree that linkin park has changed there sound, but you cant always sound the same or else your going to start to loose interest. although they dont have the same sound their lyrics are still amazing. i must say that they have the best lyrics in the music world. every song has a different message. i still think that they are amazing |

I'm a huge LP fan, and I think this album is GOOD but far away from HT and Meteora. In MTM there are two masterpieces (what isn't like the old style but good): In Pieces and No Roads Left (B-side). But sometimes I think that they just wanna sell lots of MTM, because of the marketing (Look at LPTV, and "We tell you that we worked hard on this album" things. So I'm waiting the next album :) |

I would love to give LP a perfect 10 but then I would just be lieing...Although this album isn't as good as the other 2 I still have to give them credit for trying. By far the best song on this CD is What I've Done but the other ones are just ok. I was also upset when I saw the Parental Advisory on the CD cover. I don't understand why they are trying to be something that they arn't then again who knows maybe this is what they wanted and I'm still gonna be a LP fan no matter what. xoxo |

LP is my favorite band, they are a revolutionary band no matter what anyone says, and they are legendary period. To those immature jejune listeners out there that do not like their new album, all I can say is “widen your perspective in music.” Yes linkin Park started out as a legendary band with hip new music, unlike typical bands, the real bands go through a stage of evolution. Look at the Beatles when they first started and how the ended as a band, it was a completely different sound yet, the true fans continued to love them. For all you little high school rockers that like angry music………..sorry if you are disappointed. This is what you call more of grown up album, it is made for a more mature audience and those that do not like it need to once again widen their perspective in music. My just listen to the album a few times, my self being a hard core LP fan will tell you that this album is different however, the best song on this album if you ask me is “Shadow of the day” my mouth dropped for I could not believe that was actually LP singing that song, It was so different from their previous music, yet it was just so good. Listen to the album a few times and it will grow on you, the album could be a little better and some of more of their old stuff would be great if you add more of it in the mix however, “Given up” and “No more sorrow” let’s you know they still got it.

i wonder from those people who just repeat the same words they heard before,, grow up people... LP don't have to repeat the same style again and again,, its really gettin boring. This new album is Totally THE BEST of LP's, and they're moving in the right path,, This is True Music,, its not for young children.
Keep Going Linkin Park !!! |

I'm used to the older Lp songs to and I was surprised not to hear the rock that they use to do.
I read a lot of people complaining about cursing...Honestly, who cares. A couple fu**s and you guys act like they curse so much. Either your some religouse freak or you just complain a lot. When they curse they just trying to show you how they feel. A curse word just helps get there point across. So stop caring so much about a couple words and just appreciate the band. |

The fact of the matter is they are still LP and they sound awsome. They could become a NSYNC part 2 for all i care, they would still be great. Plus, Minutes to Midnight is a much deeper cd so to be taken seriously they had to tweak there sound a bit. They still sound like LP though and thats all that matters. |

This CD has a few good songs and a lot more softer ones than their last 2 Cd's... unfortunately stopped their non-cussing streak and lost a lot of fans because of that including me. What happened to Fort Minor being the cussing band? This CD still has great beats and a lot more slower/softer songs which grants it a 4 from me. (If I wanted a soft song CD, I wouldnt buy an LP cd for it) |
