MUSE don't do things by half measures. Their music almost always contains an epic, operatic quality that plays out on the grandest scale.
Latest album, Black Holes & Revelations is a classic case in point - a towering achievement that aims high and excels in just about everything it does. If you thought 2003's Absolution was great, wait 'til you get a load of this!

Muse have made the finest album of their career to date, perhaps the most wonderfully rewarding long-player they'll ever pen, an album that is as ambitious as it is combustive, as bamboozlingly bombastic as it is gracefully seductive.

it's clear proof that Muse have matured, tamed their operatic aspirations, widened their electronic horizons, and created an impossibly huge fourth studio album in the process.

The band's fourth record somehow is even bigger than its predecessor Absolution - a monstrously grandiose, ridiculously gargantuan and stunningly inventive work from start to end.

This is the band's most autopiloted effort yet, a hacked-up last-gen rehash of said space jams, only now with greater emphasis on glitz and glam.

Unfortunately, it seems the group is more interested in refining, rather than re-defining, their craft, whose torpid mechanics bear no mystery, no guts behind all that glamour.

Great album, definately different from their previous ones. Maybe thats why it doesnt get full marks from me. Its good, I just feel its too far from their sound before. Although, thats a good thing, that they can have different styles but still be every bit as awesome. |

Absolute perfection and brilliance, Muse can do it like no one can. There can never be greater band as this one, Black Holes and Revelations have gone where no bandhas gone before and beyond. In fact, all their music is stirring stuff. You don't get better than Muse. The greatest band of all time!!!! Rock on!!! |

When I first listened to it, from 'Take A Bow' to 'Map Of The Problematique' I thought it sounded good, maybe even great. From then on it went downhill. 'Exo-Politics' is good,'Knights Of Cydonia' gets points for being different, but the rest are over produced and commercial, pandering to the radio and lacking the metal heaviness, distortion and true subversive brilliance of previous albums.
Matt Bellamy's voice is still as beautiful as ever but I can't help feeling that this is a step back for Muse. Origin Of Symmetry was excellent, 9 out of 10, and Absolution equally, if not more, phenomenal. If they had resisted the urge to go commercial, and kept up the power of the first 4 tracks through the rest of the album, it could have ruled. They took a massive leap from Showbiz to Symmetry, then to Absolution, and if only they had continued to make such adventurous steps this would go down in history. Sadly, they didn't. Disappointing. |

First time I listened to this album I wasn’t 100% sure but the more I listened the better it got and now for me it is definitely up there with Absolution and Origin Of Symmetry! I now can’t choose my favourite out of the 3! When I saw them live they did the whole album and, I have no idea how they did it but they made the album even better! And now when I listen to it, it takes my breath away just like it did when I was watching them perform it! Muse are legends and Matt Bellamy is a God on the guitar! |

It was an awesome album, but I didn't think it was as good as Absolution. Absolution was a 10 out of 10 because it sounded like Muse took the time to make it good, but this album sounded like it was made in a short time and lacked a little bit more creativity.Still good though. |

This album shows the total maturity and perfectionism that Muse have required for way too long. Their absolution album captured the hearts of all the muse fans out there and I feel that "Black Holes And Revelations" hits the next top spot. An almost perfect album for all muse fans. |

i have to say that when i first heard the album i wasn't tooo sure about it, and i didnt thing it matched up at all to absolution or showbiz. but seeing them play almost the whole album live has completely changed my view on it. It is an AMAZING album, probably their best so far. its great that they're so experimental and you can see how they are becoming better and better as the albums come out. if they're not at their best now, i cant wait to see what they're like when they are!!! muse rock.

When i was told that muse were coming back stronger than before, i was skeptical, and low and behold i was right. Origin Of Symmetry and absolution remain the bands strongest albums. This album can offer insane riffs from supermassive black hole, a rhythmic genius in Knights of cydonia, and a powerful imagery in Starlight. But sadly this may be all it has to offer. No other tracks on the album show anywhere near as much promise as records worthy of release to the single buying nation. Stick to the riffs Matt, just like the first albums and you'll go far, dont change too much. |

Yeah noob to the whole Muse scene, and I feel like it's unjust that I rate it. But honestly, I really really like this album. Muse truly redefines the whole rock genre, although it scared me to take that leap. It's rhythm to it's lyrics; mostly it's rhythm, really clears up my music library to make a place for Muse of yesterday to the Muse in the future. |

MUSE is one of the only band that pulls off using the newest of new ideas along with the most classic of classic structures. I challenge anyone to find a more 'mature' sound. |

Muse has been my favorite band since forever, it seems like, and I feel like I've traveled with them through their history. They've enlightened us with their words, vocals and beats and they give us nothing more of pure astonishing delightfulness. I absolutely love them too much and I've seen them live twice. They blow me away with just their presence and I was lost in a trance when I hugged them at the Austin City Limits festival in Sept. 2006. This album is a big step for them and I know they put their whole heart into it. I love how each album is consecutively different. I don't have a favorite album or band member, but I know that I am infatuated with everything they do and make. They have awed me so many times with just listening to them on a cd and watching their live act and how they entertain the crowd. I'd give all of their cds 10/10 and more if I could. Cheers.

I don't undrstand how any human being could find this album, or any preivious ones for that matter, anything but amazing. Matthew Bellamy carries a beautiful voice, plays the piano and guitar greatly while Dom plays drums brilliantly and I Chris is amazing with bass as well. There has been no band nearly as talented than Muse and I can't imagine any band successing them in the future.

Muse are great, they can combine some traditional music of spanish with rock!!No one is cooler than them, they're rock. But in the plus there is a minus. The minuses are it slower than the last album(absolution)and the songs is not much just 11 the other bands can create 20's songs on their album, but I just want to say that muse is band who regain my spirit I'll thank with them if I meet them. |

i love this album i think that all 11 songs are certainly muse songs that no other band could write or perform but i do not think that the songs have the power of the songs on the first three albums.
That might be why i can stop listening to it half way through whereas with Origin Of Symmetry and Absolution once i start listening i cant stop.
I think that the album was one to make their live performance better by having slow songs.
Hope that for their fifth albums they can add some power to the sons. |

A very emotionally stimulating album. From high-energy, blood-pumping, adrenaline-rushing songs like "Map of the Problematique" and "Knights of Cydonia", to more mellow, grandiose musical productions such as "City of Delusion" and "Hoodoo" to catchy hooks like "Suppermassive Black Hole" and "Starlight", Matthew Bellamy displays his true vocal versatility. Simply THE best album I own. |

i cant compare it to any of the previous albums (or compare them to eachother) because they are all completely different. however i give this album a 10 because muse has steped up and gone new places again on this album, as they do on all the others. |

Its ok, but not as good as absolution. t seems almost as if they just threw a whole bunch of songs together and decided to call it an album, whereas in Absolution it seemed more thought out, with an intro and interlude, and it just seemed to flow better. And they shouldn't have gone so comercial, although Knights of Cydonia saved them, I think. |

If 10 is the highest... then they should be an 11!! Muse has now taken me to another level ... I didn't even know I had another level. Their album is incredibly amazing ... two thumbs up! (And both my toe's too! Lol =D) |

It's unfair to compare a band's own albums against one another. Black Holes is an incredible CD, pushing MUSE to limits they have not seen before. They still keep a distinct flavor in their music, keeping you in a comfort zone of what to expect. The only thing this album falls short of is true innovation... after a MUSE album I always felt they have raised the bar in what it means to be a musician... while this album gives you what you want, you still wish that maybe, there could have been something else...
But don't doubt the power in this album. It's all MUSE, so it does teem with the excellence they've always put out. |

This album, quite frankly..has changed my life. It's the only album i can listen to over and over again, without getting the slightist bit bored. I adore muse, i give them every little piece of my heart. Mostly to Matt Bellamy, because i happen to be in love with him, despite the fact he is 14years older than me, and he is engaged. I still love him with every breath i take, there is not a day passes that i don't think about him. But more to the point Here is what i think of Black Holes & Revelations: FUCKING AMAZING, MY FAVORITE ALBUM SO FAR IN MY LIFE. EACH TRACK IS SPECIAL AND EXCITING, MAGICAL. SOME TRACKS MAKE ME CRY, IF I FEEL EMOTIONAL WHICH IS ALL THE TIME SO BASICALLY, SEE THEM LIVE. AND GET HOLD OF EVERY TRACK THEY HAVE MADE give them your full support love them
