Though Moore's lyrics display her maturation as a woman and artist, offering some small insights here and there ("I put so much thought into getting ready/Now I know that was the best part," she sings on the closing song "Gardenia"), they're not quite good enough to sustain an entire album and some seem taken straight from the Jewel handbook ("She likes chocolate in the morning/She drinks her coffee late at night," Moore sings on "Can't You Just Adore Her?").  Full text...

The lyrics don't make sense & only 1 song is worth listening to. Nothing That You Are

I'm so glad she isn't trying to be the fake hollywood girl. The lyrics make so much sense. Just think about it. They will come to you. And you'll realiz ehow good they are. This cd is by far the most different and phenomenal cd i've ever heard. Gardenia is the best song. They are great.

I disagree with the previous post. The lyrics make plenty of sense. I still do not think that Mandy Moore has reached her heights in terms of vocal quality and songwriting, this is a thoughtful album and there are plenty of good tracks to listen to.

I think this is the best album by far by Mandy!!! All the songs are great. I'm glad it's a different sound than the other girls she's compared to. I hope it gets #1 b/c she deserves it. My fav. song is Slummin' in paradise.

Mandy Moore has finally proved herself an amazing entertainer. Not only is this her best album yet, she helped write half the songs.

I hate that people still don't take her seriously. I've always loved singer songwriters, and I've always loved this woman, so the fact that I get 2 in 1 is a deal! I've listened to this entire album so many times I've lost count. It's a shame people don't know good music when they hear it. Mandy sings with more passion than ever because these are her own words, and they're amazing. Bravo, Mandy.

Andrew in Phoenix Rating: 10.0

This album is huge step forward in Mandy's music career. The music is pleasant and the lyrics are realistic and relatable. It's honest, clean pop music with country/folk twist. Even though there really isn't a bad song on this album, I don't see any of them topping the charts or getting play on radio. Unfortunatly there isn't that one "record label assembled and packaged for a number spot smash hit" to bring the album into the spotlight. I think Wild Hope is sadly going to be one of the best albums to be unnoticed. Mandy's true fans will indulge with bliss.

Once you get past what you expect the album to be you see the beauty in this album.

one of the best albums of the year so far. it is great her voice is so organic and it really gives a theme to the album. Best songs are nothing that you are, all good things, slummin' in paradise, latest mistake, and gardenia is on a whole nother level. gardenia blew me away. she deserves grammys for this album!

Amy Rating: 8.0

Mandy definitely diverges from her previous albums to show that she has grown from a pop sensation to a more soulful, country, indie singer and it is surprising and enjoyable. These sounds may not be for everyone but the lyrics are meaningful and prove that she has become a young women with deeper feelings and emotions than most other singers of her class tend to show or develop into. Looking forward to hearing more from her.
