Only Crime's new record Virulence stands out among the other eight-billion bands that are currently making the same sound, despite the fact that the press release attempts to claims that Only Crime is doing something truly unique.

Because Virulence is at punk's epicenter, where rock, and melody and raw, nihilistic rage, converge, it's not pushing any limits. It does, though, deliver a dose of no-nonsense punk rock that should go a long way toward killing off a few mascara-wearing emo acts.

There are a few good hardcore songs and a number of good pop-punk songs, yet placed together, the disc starts to feel disjointed and is more forgettable than one would like. Taken as a jumbled collection of songs, Virulence isn't too bad of a record.
