Patton's most straightforward and commercial offering since his days with Faith No More.   Full text...

411mania.com Rating: 8.5

People expecting to hear a re-incarnation of Faith No More will be disappointed, but those who understand Patton’s vision of what “mainstream pop” should be, will enjoy it immensely.  Full text...

Blogcritics Rating: 8.0

The resulting trip-hop/groove/funk/rap sound is an extraordinary one and, for me, completely physical. This is an album that requires more than a single listen to appreciate. This is most definitely a three-listen album.  Full text...

liveDaily Rating: 8.0

Essentially a solo record that utilizes the talents of a plethora of guest artists, Peeping Tom's eponymous debut set is a pretty solid outing that mixes noise rock, hip-hop, electronic music and pop.   Full text...

Popmatters Rating: 7.0

Faith No More is dead. Mr. Bungle is dead. Long live Mike Patton.   Full text...

POPular music.  Full text...

Aversion Rating: 6.0

With 11 tracks and 11 different co-conspirators on Peeping Tom, Patton hits with his most accessible album in years.  Full text...

PrefixMag Rating: 5.0

Although Patton continually impresses with vocal feats, his singing lacks the emotive quality of his earlier works that made you wonder if any studio equipment perished in coping with his oral onslaught. And many of the songs seem like an incongruous splice-job of several underdeveloped riffs.  Full text...

Drowned in sound Rating: 5.0

It holds some charms, but Peeping Tom is overshadowed by Patton's previous work and while it is, in essence, another boundary broken in its incorporation of myriad influences and elements, it is unlikely to leave a lasting impression in the minds of even the most obsessive Mike Patton fan.  Full text...

StylusMagazine Rating: 2.5

It sounds exactly like what it is: a bunch of tracks sent back and forth through the mail.   Full text...

Slant Magazine Rating: 2.0

Album is a collection of infantile, forgettable stripper anthems and not even guest spots from Rahzel or Kid Koala can keep this shit from sounding like Linkin Park.  Full text...

well dammit i liked it! i'm a mike patton fan and i own and like just about everything he's ever done, except for his noise "projects". you fools that like to sit and knock him because you think you're too cool to admit that you like it, shut up and go drink your Guinness...and Linkin Park?? Please, i've never listened to them except for the few seconds it takes for my radio to scan, HARDLY compares to this album...and besides...'S*** LIVES FOREVER!!'

Mike Patton is a brilliant artist/vocalist! His voice knows no bounds, and his style cannot be compared to ANYONE!! He is Mike Patton! This album is one that I am proud to have in my collection. Not only that.. but to truely judge an artist, you have to see how they perform their music LIVE!! I've seen FNM and Bungle once each, and Peeping Tom TWICE! Mikes voice was unfaltering, his attitude was energetic and fun, and his supporting group performs flawlessly!! LONG LIVE MIKE PATTON, FOR HE IS LORD!!!

I just saw peeping tom at coachella and they were one of the Best Bands There. I bought peeping tom right after it was released and I have been enjoying it very much but seeing tom patton live was indescribable. he was magnificent and his back-up players were flawless. I am seriously impressed.... and I am not a "fan".... I need to go out and get some of his older work so I can be fermiliar. I grew up more punk influenced - this is definitely NOT linkin park. Highly recommended.
