‘These Streets’ is a refreshing album that could be a lost project of the great Van Morrison, as his stripped down eccentric voice encapsulates youth at it’s most naïve yet still speaks years ahead of it’s age.  Full text...

In this album he has a collection of songs that show promise.   Full text...

The bluesy stomp of album opener "Jenny Don't Be Hasty" comes with a black and white rock'n'roll cool and a tale of loving an older woman, which says that "These Streets" is a classic album in the making.  Full text...

The problem is, that while the boy can howl and croon as well as anyone, you want to hear brooding, dark tales of disrepute from it rather than songs about trainers (New Shoes) and soppy FM ballads  Full text...

fantastic, something new, fresh, bringing class i guess in a stage of music where emo is cool

jules Rating: 10.0

i love his album its really good - buy it!! and im going 2 c him live can't wait!!

johnboy Rating: 2.0

pretty mediocre, pretty much jumping on the band wagon of bland folk-esque/emo drivel that is being released at the moment

vj Rating: 10.0

fantastic, like i usually listen to punk/emo, but my brother bought me this and I can't stop listening to it. You have to buy it!

Chris Milliard Rating: 6.0

'These Streets' gives the feel of a Damien Rice type of sound, yet slightly more juvenile and husky! Nutini is undoubtedly a very talented musician with a strong, applaudable voice - the album does not however reach the heights this mans voice should be acheving. A slightly safe debut album, where as a Damien Rice would opt for a very more moving and angst compilation of songs, Nutinis songs lack the neccesary passion and drive that would turn this album into a very more personal CD, not just for Nutini, but also for his admirers. A decent album though, looking forward to where his next album goes!

I really can't understand why this guy is rapidly becoming a pop idol in the UK... Ok, he's good looking, that's enough to get thousands of fat girls to buy his record, but that's pretty much it. One decent ballad (Last Request) just isn't enough to justify the hype.

fantastic alum and voice! Even better live!!!

BiTtEr-SwEeT Rating: 10.0

THIS IS A GREAT ALBUM!! Its about time there was some decent, real, edgy, talent coming from the UK. Paolo definitely is all of the above and every song tells a story.
Can't stop listening to the album and he's fantastic live!

I discovered Paolo Nutini wiz Last Request, which I immediately fell 4. When I listened 2 his CD I was @ 1st surprised by ze rock tracks. But after listening again, I appreciated tracks like Jenny Don't b hasty even more zan Last Request. There r no track zat u want 2 slip. One of ze most beautiful voice I've ever heard, great music, sincere lyrics. Don't miss ze 2 hidden tracks after track 10. My only regret is zat zer is only 10 tracks. This CD is really worth buying though!

love the album, Loving You is such a sexy song! he's great, although i think it could do with a couple more tracks, but i like New Shoes and Alloway Grove, they're wicked!

this album is amazing like Paolo ! I've discovered his talent with Last Request. And I just wish i'll go to one of his gig in France and especially in my town

Buckley Rating: 3.0

This is a catchy album that is listenable for a couple run-throughs. Good for a 19-year old, but not much better than any of the teenage acts I can watch at the local open mic. He can make some pleasant noises with his throat, but both the lyrics and the guitar playing are too uninspired for the album to lean towards the stripped-down songwriter approach.

The themes are bland and have the whiff of a boy struggling to cover up his immaturity. The unappealing subtext is extreme discomfort with one's own youth -- see "Rewind" and claims of "going from bar to bar" with lagging, world-weary feet. It's heartlessly rendered. Any careful listener who has actually experienced the blood-thinning that Nutini play-acts here will be struck by how ingenuine this song feels.

"These Streets" is embarassing and comes off as a theatric attempt at alienation. The song takes a chic, impressionistic approach to that end, and fails badly. Nutini's insights are limited to the stunning observation London is a densely populated metropolitan area.

On this album, Nutini has the vocal chords of an artist, but the sense and soul of a child. His fine looks will carry him into the ears of folks who don't quite care for good musicians so much as the charming portrayal of what looks and quacks like a musician.

A nice album with catchy tunes and melodies. Paolo really sucks you into his own world =) The best thing is that this album is real, edgy and lovely at the same time. I am a fan ^^

Rachellea Rating: 10.0

For this being his 1st album this is excellent. I can't wait till his next album comes out. He has an amazing voice.

Winnie Rating: 8.0

Simple lyrics, simple melodies and simple voice. Very Damien Rice-ish, but that's why I appreciate it. Should have done more tracks though. For me, 'White Lies' stands out best, with its quiet and gentle guitar picks in the background. Not a bad first album.

Michelle Rating: 10.0

This is the best album ever and Paolo Nutini has the best voice and is really hot so all you losers who give him less than an 8 can't see real music when it hits you in the face!!

Camron Wolff Rating: 8.0

this guy rocks he has an original voice with a good sound i would like to see him get into it more tho. when he really sings is when i get the chills. keep at it

Annie Rating: 10.0

Personally, once I found out about Paolo Nutini I couldn't get enough. I even had my brother buy me his cd over in London before it went stateside. He's truley amazing, and hes only 18.

Mike Rating: 9.0

Simply a class act. This young man's voice is reminiscent of a young Rod Stewart and his lyrics are heartfelt and beautiful to listen to.
A wonderful effort for a first album he can only get better from here.
'Jenny Don't Be Hasty' and 'Alloway Grove' are brilliant.
BRAVO PAOLO!

someguy Rating: 10.0

you cant pigeon hole him.he goes from sounding like jack johnson to some old soul singer. he is a breath of fresh air in the awefull stinch of a rap and hip hop world. his songs are addictive and i hope god keeps him breathing on this earth to further entertain us with his talent!! :)
it's a selfish want, but that is what addiction does!! play on paolo!!!!!!

LUVNO Rating: 10.0
