This album is a lot of things, many of them impossible to squeeze into the written word, but most of all, it’s the sound of an artist operating without a safety net. An unfamiliar noise, to be sure, and not for everyone – but immensely, unexpectedly rewarding nonetheless.

Give this one several listens. You will find Rickie Lee with a breakthrough album. It's fabulous and rich. It will take some getting use to because of the religous overtones but it's far more. I have to congratulate Rick on her courage and vast and changing abilities. |
