Black October is an album with its biggest big toe stuck in the early '90s and everything else firmly entrenched and embroiled in 20 October, 2006. The big toe is Sadat X's flow, which is genius as it ever was.

Sadly, Black October is not likely to be the record that's gonna put Sadat X back at the front of the progressive rap pack, though it does have some impressive, standout moments.

For loyal fans this is still worth checking out, but if Education & Experience didn’t move you then this project will do little to change your mind, for although Black October is miles ahead of something like Behind Bars, it’s no Wild Cowboys either.
