The Snake The Cross The Crown may not be the easiest name to remember, but its certainly unique and well written enough to remember by melody.

It's easy to get drawn into the world crafted by The Snake The Cross the Crown as it is completely accessible and endlessly deep, but when it comes down to it, there are still some kinks to be worked out. If 3 years shows this much stylistic improvement then who knows what this band is capable of when given the time to hone their sound.

Cotton Teeth tends to be easy on the ears with the sporadic heavy moment, but it’s a varied pace that works all the same. The Snake the Cross the Crown isn’t rewriting everything you know about southern-fried indie pop/rock, but you’ll definitely notice a couple revised chapters.

It's a bold move for the band, one that came after a lot of soul-searching, practice-room experiments and cancelled tours. And while The Snake the Cross the Crown reestablished themselves as free-spirit indie-roots rockers, it's going to take an album a little stronger than the lukewarm Cotton Teeth to prove the act's true-to-itself sound is worth anyone else's attention.
