For their fourth album Snow Patrol have produced a lot of great songs on this album. Personally i consider this album to be the best one they've done, and with the singles 'Chasing Cars' and 'You're All I Have' this is a must buy!

i luv this album.im not a big snow patrol fan but ive actually been out and bought this album because i luv it. all i have and chasing cars are 2 differant but brilliant tracks and the other tracks are good too. Each track seems to tell a story making this a wicked album and so easy to listen to. theres something for everyone and a tune to suit every mood. Its a must buy album.!!

This is one of the best albums i have heard. the songs "open your eyes" and "chasing cars" are simply fantastic. you can really feel the music and the lyrics. and with the help of "chsing cars" being put on Grey's Anatomy...everytime i hear it...i cry non-stop. Snow patrol are really brilliant at writing good lyrics.

As a musician and knowing music I must say there's something about the song Chasing Cars that I can't put my finger on. Something so sincere and deep, yet the lyrics are so simple. The music is too. So simple, yet so unique. It almost makes me sad, but it makes me feel like life is beautiful at the same time! It makes you feel the need to love the simple things in life.

This album is filled with emotion which either you will love or hate, I loved it. Snow Patrol managed to almost tell a whole story within each song and managed to make me feel different emotions in every song.....DEFINATLY reccomend picking this up.

I love this album! The songs on it are great! The whole thing is awesome... My favourite songs on it are 'You're All I Have' and 'Chasing Cars' but I also like 'Hands Open' alot... What can I say? It is a great album. I just wish they would play some of the other songs on the radio besides Chasing Cars every half hour. There is a lot of great songs: You Could Be Happy, Hands Open, Set Fire To The Third Bar, Headlights On Dark Roads just to name a few. Simple yet unique.

The album is fantastic, beautiful stuff. My favourite song is Make This Go On Forever, impossible to hear and not want to cry. Its the perfect album to listen to if you're confused about a relationship :) They deserve the commercial success, I hate it when people use this as a reason to dislike the band. This album is immense and music which makes you stand up and listen, I hope they go from strength to strength!

First off... I hate when people vote 10s or 1s on a clearly not perfect but not atrocious album. This album has a variety of styles to tune into in each song, then of course... you have Chasing Cars, which has become one of my all-time favorites. The other songs are decent, but I don't see any of them being absolutely terrible... maybe the music is slightly dull in them but the lyrics are still powerful.

The songs in this album have the same, amazing melody; the lyrics and meanings of the songs are put in a great combination so you can actually feel what Lightbody is staging. All the songs have a great, calming melody, and I strongly recommend this album for anyone who looks beyond songs to feel words portrayed from the heart.

Not as good as U2, but still a worthy album from Snow Patrol. There's something about Brit Rock that's more sophisticated than American Rock. Sure, we got a few originals like Switchfoot and Dave Matthews, but nothing quite compares to bands like Coldplay, Keane, or even Snow Patrol. Then only reason I give this a six instead of an eight or higher is because of the theme. Sure, they have a lot of great metaphors for love and loss, but haven't they found something better to sing about? The repeating theme about open hands, open eyes, and other things that you can open and shut is creative but it lack something. The music is fantastic, but these guys need something more. With anthems on past albums like "Run" and on this one like "Chasing Cars" they could make a song that could actually have some impact on the world. Buy if you like catchy indie rock about love, although it's still worth a listen even if you don't.

The first song i've ever heard of them was probably chasing cars. I wish i would have discovered them sooner, but well.. I fell in love with chasing cars and when i listened to their other tracks i fell in love with the band, so I bought eyes open. I can play it over and over again. I just can't stop listening. The lyrics are just so simple but at the same time they hit the heart. Set the fire to the third bar is amazing. martha's voice is a bit annoying. But with gary's voice, the song is just amazing. Open your eyes is beautifull because the "build up" is just so simple but yet so great. Every song is just beautifull on its own way.

one of the best records i bought in 2006. the only reason its not a 10 is becuase a lot of the songs aren't 'moving'...what i'm saying, is that songs like "set the fire to the third bar" would be better if there was more to the song. i almost thought that "open your eyes" would've slid down that same path, but turned out to be one of my favorites from the record, along with "chasing cars" and "hands open". overall, good melodies, good lyrics that hold meaning, and overall good music to listen to on the road.
