The LP is a winning formula to win Sandi the respect and following she needs.  Full text...

Fairytale stuff; too good to be true, some have cynically said.  Full text...

Chris High Rating: 7.0

Smile … It Confuses People is a credit to everybody concerned and should be lauded for the fact Sandi Thom has had the bottle to break the rules and gone out and got what she really wanted.   Full text...

Guardian Rating: 6.0

The album's theme - Thom as strong-yet-lovelorn female - is clearly the outcome of years spent strumming along to Carly, Joni and Carole, who also provided the template for Thom's closest contemporary, KT Tunstall.  Full text...

The Age Rating: 5.0

Ironically, over a whole album, the temperate approach to production, so effective on Punk Rocker, renders Smile... just another female singer-songwriter album.  Full text...

It's pleasant enough in parts, sort of K. T. Tunstall lite. Which is very lite indeed.   Full text...

TimeOut Rating: 3.3

No, we at Time Out don’t completely buy this rags-to-riches story about the ‘live webcasts’ from her Tooting flat, and we’re also suspicious that the folksy, a cappella single ‘I Wish I Was A Punk Rocker’ was actually released last October on a smaller label and reached Number 55. she really over sings. her album is awful. it annoys me that she does have a beautiful voice but she over sings it making it sound forced.

fantastic voice, fantastic album 10 out of 10!!

Absolutely fantastic! Though with only 10 songs, it gives off an eerily presence that Sandi Thom shows individuality. However, most songs are summery and kind of tedious. Time is my favourite.

Well, i really liked the album..the lyrics are simple and true.

And the topic of the music 'I wish I was a Punk Rocker (With Flowers in my hair)' is something that I'm always talking about.. in this world there's too much technologie and struff that really doens't matter..

But talking about Sandi Thom, her voice is beautiful and powerful..a great singer I must say.
