Taking Back Sunday's third album is it's best because it combines soft with hard, new with old, emo with rock, and everything else you can put in one album.  Full text...

The sound on this record is huge, with incredibly full, exploding guitars, seamless vocals; it’s got an all-around radio-ready production.  Full text...

Taking Back Sunday made state-of-the-art emo, but no real impression about what made them tick.   Full text...

PastePunk.com Rating: 6.0

Even with the changes, Louder Now retains aspects of past albums. The familiar back and forth vocals between lead singer Adam Lazarra and guitarist Fred Mascherino are a constant, choruses rely on repetitive lyric delivery and Lazarra’s confident vocal swagger has even become a tad more arrogant.  Full text...

Musically speaking, TBS's main problem is that they write precisely two kinds of songs: energetic pop rock with whiny vocals, and midtempo power rock, again with whiny vocals.  Full text...

Samantha Rating: 3.0

Their first two albums were better. I think I liked it more when John Nolan echoed Adam Lazzara. Now that John is out of the band the album has no where near the sound of their first two. The lyrics are dumb and the songs are boring but I do have to say that Makedamnsure and Liar were awesome and the only good songs on the album

Danae Rating: 10.0

This CD has something for everyone. Songs like Spin, for the rock fans and Liar, for everyone else. Their music connects with real life in a way that most artists cannot achieve. I think this album is something you should definitely buy.

Steph Rating: 9.0

I think its pretteh good. The first two were probably better was what my first impressions were after one listen... but after a few more plays, its just as contageous... i think all you people moaning about it just need to take a hike really... dont listen to it if you don't like it and know what it contains... Dumb Fucks.

Nat.<33 ya dig? Rating: 10.0

Genius. Pure genious. Love their earlier work, love this just as much. Their lyrics are incredible and i love the anger displayed in these songs. Taking Back Sunday will be the love of my life, number one band, always and forever. <33

Brittany Rating: 10.0

I totally dig everything from TBS so this makes this a little biased for me , but I love this album. I definitely love "Tell All Your Friends" about ten times more, but I can't stop listening to the pure hotness and unsteadiness of Adam's voice.

k Rating: 1.0

i was terribly disappointed with this album. the beats arent technical at all and i fell asleep while listening to it.

try again

Tré Rating: 10.0

This album is too good for words. Adam Lazzara is a amazing wordsmith. Taking Back Sunday are awesome.

Matt Rating: 8.0

I guess i'm the only one who thinks that tell all your friends was a lame pop emo album? They aren't the best now but they're a whole lot better than they were before. They're getting more alternative and less pop. This is a good thing, people.

Ian Rating: 10.0

This album is unreal, it's amazing how much this band has grown

Skatedanddestroyed Rating: 10.0

Excellent Album, with catchy beats and engaging lyrics. But how do you go about getting "Brooklyn (If You See Something, Say Something)"? I cant find it anywhere. If you can give it to me, or tell me where to find it on the CD, im me or email at switchflipfakie4 (@aim.com)

Sian Rating: 10.0

I'm reading over some people's critisms and really don't see what they are complaining about. This album is pure genius, you can tell ALOT of time and effort has been put into making it and its totally worthwhile. Adam and Fred's voices go hand in hand together with the lyrics that are cleverly written. I really don't see how TBS haven't dominated the world yet!

Brandon Rating: 10.0

I think it's just as good as anything else they've ever put out. I love Taking Back Sunday, and they're music, in my oppinion, is always gonna be great. I devote my life to punk, and Taking Back Sunday is still punk.

Ness Rating: 8.0

Its a good album. Good to listen to when you angry, good to listen when your sad. Its got a mixture of everything for every mood. I love it.

Gabe Rating: 10.0

Louder Now is a lot different from the first two albums but just as good. With Fred and Eddie rippin' it, and Adam's sick ass voice TBS will always be the greatest band. I dont skip, FF or RW the album, I just let it play "...LOUDER NOW, LOUDER NOW...".
By far the dopist CD I own.

Carly Rating: 7.0

it's ok ... i love the song makedamnsure though ! it was in my head for like a week once. but there other albums are better ..but it's still a good album.

Sal Rating: 10.0

it combines everything you need. crusing and listening to this album with the window down makes my day amazing.

Sean Rating: 10.0

This record is freakin amazeing!

Liam Rating: 10.0

this album is SO awsome.
i can believe they put it out, and, as other have said, u can tell it has had alot of work put in.
im lovin all the songs for EVERY mood.
its crazy how ood it is.
also, im still in love with the others!
they are on top, and they wil be for a while.
saw them live at TOC and it was so amazing.
the crispness of the recording is outstanding.
<3

Rae-Lee Rating: 10.0

this album is the best taking back sunday yet. and is definatley in my top 5 all time favs. the songs are catchy, upbeat and the lyrics are amazing!! adam lazzara's voice is suave and to die for!!

TBS lover. Rating: 10.0

Liar, MakeDamnSure, Spin, I'll Let You Live, and Error Operator in my opinion are the best five songs on this CD. I liked Taking Back Sunday back in 04' but now I love them.

Maggie Rating: 10.0

This album is so much more mature sounding than those of the past, and it makes them sound a lot better. The beats and lyrics mix really well and gives the impression that they're grown up now, and their sound grew with them. Amazing album, for sure.

Kathryn Rating: 8.0

I've liked all of Taking Back Sunday's albums, and before Louder Now I thought they were good, but I can definitely see the change from Tell All Your Friends. That's the mark of true success, growth. I love Louder Now, and I think it's one of the best albums of the year.

Amanda Rating: 10.0

I love Taking Back Sunday. I have no heart to say anything bad about any of their work. This album is amazing as well as the others. TBS is my favorite band ever and Adam Lazzara is an amazing vocalist.

wow Rating: 0.0

I never imagined in all my days that I would have the misfortune to hear such over-rated dross. This album was such a disappointment *sigh* and yet another band gets caught up in their own hype :/

aDAM lAZARA Luver Rating: 10.0

I love Taking Back Sunday, and Louder Now has a, well, loud, jump around and scream the lyrics feel to it. I love the alum, love the band and it will definatly be a challenge for them to top this one. Favourite songs off the album, although I love them all, are "My Blue Heaven", "Spin" and "Miami". Keep up the awesome work boys! Oh, and of course, the lead singer Adam Lazzara is the sexiest man alive! <333

Emily Rating: 10.0

I fond out about "Taking back Sunday" from a friend's t-shirt in the summer. Ever since then, I've been hooked! I lover there newest album "Louder Now". The songs are written brilliantly and the guitar solos are amazing. Adam sang in a more punk/emo way and I fell in love with it, saying that I loved their old albums. Fave songs on "Louder Now" are "My Blue Heaven", "Twenty, Twenty Surgery", "Spin", and fave "Miami". Saying this, all songs are awesome. And Adam Lazzara just keeps getting sexier and hotter! Keep it up boys!

maddro Rating: 10.0

i love this album it blows the others out of the water my favourite is 'spin' 'error operator' and 'make damn sure' wow what an album why arent these guys more successful?

mike Rating: 5.0

well the album was alright, im not going to say amazing because this cd i had to be in the mood to listen to, and tell all your friends i could just listen to the whole thing and not be disappointed. the guitar in the songs got a lot more well fancy i guess you could say, using a lot of harmonics. but still again i have to be in the mood. and to mee the only great songs are spin, error operator and ill let you live. also twenty twenty surgery is good. but still iw ould rather listen to the old stuff. i guess this became to main stream for me. anyways all around it was an ok cd.

jocelyn Rating: 10.0

i love taking back sunday with a passion! im going to one of their concerts in london in march and WOW i am SOOO excited! i love liar and louder now. some of the songs are different from the other cds..but i love it ALL no matter what!
keep rockin TBS!

Allen Rating: 9.0

This album was absolutely fantastic! TBS truly is the best emo-rock band out there today! They should come out with an album every month to make G-Unit look like G-U-NOTTT

Sammie <33 Rating: 10.0

TBS is one of the best bands ever!! I love their song liar!! woot woot!! They are so KOOL!!!

de.Boer. Rating: 3.0

this band needs to step back and take a good hard look at that album. Their getting worse and worse with each album. The first album is gold, and the second is okay. This one is complete mainstream anoying. They need tot stop trying to use annoying lyrics about making out with girls and life as a teenager. If you want to see a band mature with each album (like Taking Back Sunday SHOULD have) listen to all the "Brand New" albums, the latest being "The devil and god are raging inside me" That is a band that is not afraid to change thier style of music to be at odds with the emo, black my eyes cut my wrists fanbase that listen to music with lyrics with lyrics about meaningless things. I am extremely dissapointed with the direction of this album. TBS needs to turn it around double time. Im not buying the next album is they keep degrading the lyrical intergrity

AHHH!<3 Rating: 10.0

wow. and i thought "tell all your friends" and where you want to be" were good. "louder now" is amazing. the album is a combination of different songs. taking back sunday's albums just keep getting better and better. if you dont like this album then you just must not like taking back sunday all together. i cant wait to see what they come out with next<3

SaveTheDay Rating: 8.0

First two albums= better. This one is not so bad however. Is I think What's it feel like to be a ghost

Kayla <3 Rating: 10.0

I have no idea how some ppl could rate this CD under an 8! This album is great! I actually like all of the songs because on their other CDs I liked maybe only 1/2 the songs. If u dont have this cd, im advising u 2 go out and get it. :)

. . . Rating: 4.0

ahhh. their first two albums were soooo much better. they sounded different then most other bands and now they sound the same as any other alternitive band. thats okay TBS is still amazing.

JENN OWNS YOUR BOY. Rating: 10.0

taking back sunday OWNS.
end of story.
if i could rate them higher than a ten,
it would be a never ending number.

Joelle Rating: 10.0

I love this cd.The lyrics are nothing like they have sounded before like in the songs spin and liar. I just can't stop listening to it!

swenson Rating: 9.0

well the first time i listened to it i have to say i thought it didnt even compare to the firs two. But after listening to it 3 or 4 times it gets catchy and very contagious

Jonny Rating: 6.0

'Tell All Your Friends' is my favourite album of all time bar none! Then Nolan left and the genius clung on for one more album,(although it was kinda the same). But this attempt is waaaay to 'errrrrrrrrr' for my liking. It's good, better that alot of other crap out nowadays, certainly better than the huge let-down The Killers 'Sams Town' was, but still a shadow of their former selves. 2close to pop-sellout 2me, better luck next time. + gotta agree with the other guy, Brand New are growing as a band and have left teen-angst in their past, saw them live and they officially knocked the long-standing TBS of the top-spot of my favourite bands. Just a shame TBS no-longer has anyone like John Nolan or Jesse Lacey behind them anymore. Lazzara is still a decent wordsmith n a great voice but without a talent like Nolan to over-shadow the guy, he's gettin a little too cocky n is still swinging his fecking mike 2much. LONG LIVE THE MEMORY! (can't bring myself 2rate anything TBS with less than 6)

Vince Rating: 10.0

umm yea, i just gotta say i love it. i am not a hard out rocker, nor any "emo" that ppl r called. i am an athlete surrounded by rap but i just love TBS

Andy Rating: 8.0

Pretty good, but certainly not great when put against previous albums. Tell all your friends is one of my favorite albums of all time, and by comparison, this isnt half as good. thats not saying its bad though - their old stuff was just better. songs like "My Blue Heaven", "Liar" and "MakeDamnSure" are the best the album has to offer, so yes, Adam Lazzara still has the same voice, which has always been fantastic. Different sound, but its all still good.

Sabrina Rating: 4.0

John Nolan made the band. So this album's practically uncomparable to the earlier two. The lyrics are more empty as well as the vocals. I would probably entirely dig the album if it wasn't Taking Back Sunday, but I expect way more from them. "MakeDamnSure" gets stuck in my head all the time, though.

Danielle Rating: 10.0

i love louder now, all the people think its sucks and is getting old are stupid. taking back sunday has always been awesome and their new album is like all of them combined, to make the best album in the world. and all the people who are being stupid and saying john nolan made the band, well guess what did he no. with fred they are doing way better thatn when they had john. and the the song MakeDamnSure is the best song on this earth. Taking Back Sunday is possibly the best band ever!!

shayface <3 Rating: 10.0

taking back sunday is freaking amazingg. louder now is their best yet. [looks like they get better with age?] Miami is the bomb.

Mark Rating: 10.0

I love it!!!But the bad thing is i have only heard a few other songs(cute without the e)(You know how i do) from their other albums but their all different in the same way

Karly Rating: 10.0

Just saw these guys in Edmonton AB and WOW what an amazing live convert. This new CD is unreal i love it and all the rest too!!!!

sheiluxx Rating: 10.0

omg taking...i lov em i think each song has something special for each one of us and i luv em all but this last album killed me (and its not that bad down here)they are soo great. they were born to be Taking Back Sunday

peep! Rating: 8.0

it's a good album. obviously, their other two were better, but this one was good too. it's a different sound, i think. i like it. good work.

Jake Rating: 10.0

I apparently love the album. I actually think it sounds so much better than the last two albums. I thin that Fred is so much better than John. So suck it up you assholes and if you don't like it, listen to Fall Oot Boy or other crappy bands.

URRIN!!! Rating: 10.0

ok so tbs IS my faveorite band but still this album is very good and i think that they ALL have progressed since the begining and i think this is the best one yet so people that say that tbs is getting worse and worse they dont know true music and they dont know what they're talking about and if you do read this lol you rock

Default Rating: 8.0

I thought this album turned out to be pretty well. Although like most people pointed out, some songs may be a little "off", the others were all good.

casey Rating: 7.0

the album overall was not bad, but not as good as the first two. Tell all Your Friends is timeless, and Where you want to be is just a step down, but this has to be the lesser of the 3 cd's. but that doesn't mean its bad. good one guys. whoever said brand new's cd's got better as they went has no style in music whatsoever!

Jennifer Rating: 2.0

I Agree With De.Boer. Taking Back Sunday Really Changed Since Their First Album And Now Everyone Just Knows Them Because They Came Out On MTV One Day. This Album Only Had About 2 Or 3 Good Songs. I Am Completely Disappointed With The Band. I Loved Them Dearly When No One Knew Who Taking Back Sunday Was. First Album- I Could Hear That Straight Without Skipping Any Songs But With Louder Now, I Skip Only To The Few Songs I Like.I Find Myself Bored With This Record. Tell All Your Friends Will More Than Likely Be My Favorite Taking Back Sunday Album And Louder Now Will Go In One Of My Worst Albums List.
