A combination of incredibly produced guitars, limitless energy, and powerful, generous vocal melodies make this album truly easy on the ears.  Full text...

RollingStone Rating: 7.0

It may undercut their punk-pop-with-fiddle shtick, but when you've got songs this good, you don't need a gimmick.   Full text...

Billboard Rating: 7.0

An assured work that lands well beyond the walls of stock pop/punk, right where the band was aiming.  Full text...

Jam! Rating: 7.0

Nearly all of these 14 songs come with the sort of emotional control and ambitious songcraft that turns Next Big Things into full-fledged arena heroes.  Full text...

E!Online Rating: 6.7

The band goes a different way now, and it's not necessarily a better one.  Full text...

Still unsure, some really great songs but also some songs that are ruined by the lack of creativity in the choruses.

Jakki Rating: 7.0

I still prefer Yellowcard's previous album to this one - the last one had more SOMETHING this doesn't seem to have. There are a few good ones though - Rough landing holly, Grey & City of devils, but overall this is just a pretty average album.

Chris Rating: 10.0

The first album with the very song that sparked my love for all yellowcard songs, timelessly unique in terms of what the song is trying to tell us...its not the normal hate this that that type of thing, but something of the opposite and rare to come across. overall, its one of the best i've ever came across

i didnt like this album at first, but after listening to it a couple of times i fell in love with it... it is old yellowcard mixed with a different and more rockish yellowcard... i approve

AMY. Rating: 9.0

This album is awesome. The violin & orchestral bits really added depth to the songs, some even made me shiver.
But I agree a little about the lyrics, every now & then in a song I thought they were a bit lame, but that didn't matter, because maybe that's how they're supposed to be.

At first i didn't like the album and after a few times of listening to it, i came to realise how good it was. Don't think it's as good as the last album ocean avenue, but it is close and i can only see them going from strength to strength with the next album.

Levi Rating: 9.0

With a previous album like Ocean Avenue it is hard to try and "beat" it, but this still has some very emotional songs, but also the rock element. With the 3 year gap you know this hasn't been rushed and done for the money. This is a great album none the less.

I fell in love with Yellowcard's album Ocean Avenue, and was so excited to get their next album. But when I first put it on, I thought I put in a different CD. This doesn't sound like Yellowcard at all. Honestly, I found it boring. Maybe it'll grow on me if I listen to it a few more times, but I think Yellowcard could do a lot better.

Backyard Stage Rating: 4.0

I like some of this album songs cause it's more talented then the other ones and more complicated,But guess what the old albums are much better because it's nice and simple
i dont mean i dont like good and talented stuff but this album is nothing coparing to the other albums

Noname Rating: 7.0

I like this alum because it's so different and grown up from Ocean avenue. sure, I love all the other albums that Yellowcard have provided us with. but I still don't like the videos, especially the one for Rough landing Holly, I mean, "hello, who is creating theese videos??"
But I still love yellowcard and will always Love yellowcard.

If you are trying to compare this album to Ocean Avenue, you are out of your mind. Some good tracks, but the lack of violin in most of the songs goes away from yellowcards past. Paper Walls is going to be incredible!

Fan 4 Years Rating: 4.0

I've been a huge Yellowcard fan since October Nights, but going from 2x Platinum with Ocean Ave to Gold with Lights and Sounds... this one strayed too far from what alot of us have come to love! But from what I've heard from Paper Walls, it looks like we can expect a nice come back...

Matt Rating: 9.0

The album was very good, but some of the songs lack creativity. they could improve a bit on their song 'space travel', but overall it was a good album
